You have a new stator in the bottom? Where did it come from? why did you have to solder? Seems like the problem is there if you have no spark.

new stator is from hyperparts.com ... they are 13.95 or somethin like that...its a stator coil..not whole assembly..and i had to solder the wire to the new stator coil..u have to or it will NOT work at all..but im thinkin thats my problem agian..maybe the solder cam off or something..im going to go buy some good solder and order a flywheel puller and see whats gonna happen!..lol

Use soldering flux and 60/40 solder for a nice solid connection and then cover the connection with shrink tubing.

make sure that the insulation can resist high heats because it gets hot down there.

well i was using flux core solder but it doesnt melt well..for some reason..and what do u mean by shrink tubing?? melt some plastic over it?

You can buy stuff from electronic stores that is a thermo plastic. Heat it and it shrinks and covers your wire.... I wonder why they call it shrink tube??? :naughty:

I bet your soldering iron is not hot enough causing a cold solder.
You know how many watts it is?

no but its old..im going to try the other when i get my flywheel off again... i get a new puller monday so...either i wait or i have the shop do it again..i prolly have the shop do it saturday tho...BTW i got my new parts in..wiseco rings for my piston, full gasket kit, cam chain guide and tensioner, heavy duty cam chain (D.I.D) and a few others..i must say that the stuff i got doesnt even look like its worth 130 bucks..lol

Probably run for 50 years with all that new stuff!

trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro i wish it ran! lol...i got it all torn down to the case in my garage in about 2 hours..gettin ready to take the clutch off so i can remove the counter shaft and put a new one in and a new shift shaft and rod..the shifter and the front sprocket are welded to the shafts ..and the new sprocket is a 13 tooth..o yea...and hopefully i can put the 200x gearing in there so i can be just as fast as a normal 200x but with an anuto matic clutch..the downside is takepff but i dont plan on racing so its all good..unless im already moving and decided to smoke my bro on his lakota sport 300...lol that would be great!

After a rebuild, it seems that you have to work out the bugs. Usually it is something simple too!

yea i know...i tell u what tho..after 20 years when a honda locks the piston to the cylinder and melts the rings..u always have a problem..before my friend locked it up it ran great all the time..never failed to start on the 1st or 2nd pull...even without the choke in the winter with wind chills to -10...it always started before that..now that i rebuilt it..it dont work..and i found my problem i think with the air leak noise..my exhaust valve is still open when its supposed to be closed..so thats a simple fix..now if i can just get the stator fixed..itll be perfect...and 1 ? on my stator u said use shrink tubing right? well should i only do the connection or should i cover the whole stator coil with it and the connection??

I would just cover the connection where you soldered it.
How did you friend melt down your motor? Ride the piss outta it?

yea..lol..didnt make sure the rings werent froze cause it had been sitting for awhile..he is sitting here next to me reading this and he says he had fun doing it...which i ought to f'in hit him for...i should also put a BIG MUSHROOM STAMP ON HIS FOREHEAD...anyway...i got it all together and the f'er still doent have spark...so yea im stuck with 130 dollars worth of stuff into that piece of trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro engine and it doesnt run!!! I AM PISSED..anyway..my friend says his 200x is the nicest and badest ass 200x in clay county and surrounding counties..it does about 70 mph...thats the truth..we clocked it with a 2004 grizzly 660...the grizzley had trouble keepin up till it got a little faster than the x..its nice but it needs a new front fender cause its like a shard of glass..even tho its plastic..other than that its cherry...its realy nice

ok i know this thread has gone over a day without any reply but i need to add something so hopefully someone can narrow it down more for me..today i put the 200x coil on there thinkin it may be the coil..well it wasnt..so i put the first 185 cedi box on there cause it is still good..well it still didnt even try to run..its getting gas for sure cause the plug is wet..now im thinking..put the 185 top end back on and see what happens ..or put the engine on the 200x frame and use the cdi box and its coil and see if it works then..my problem with that is i still dont have brakes or a gas tank..lol..its work in progress...anyway..any input on why it still isnt getting a spark?? o yea and i also changes the pulse rotor and plate..and checked the kill switch for anything..its all dry and not corroded..i really cant think of anything for this
what kind of shape is your flywheel in? there is the magnets in it and between each magnet there are 2 little black spacers; make sure the spacers are in there...

Disconnect the kill switch just in case its that causing problems. Hook a low wattage bulb upto the bottom electrics and and wind it over to see if its charging.

uhm the way to wind it over is to push it and it just so happens something in my brakes broke yesterday causing them to lock up completely..i havnt got it fixed so im just going to put the engine on the 200x frame..i dont really care that it doesnt have brakes cause i can downshift for that..but it still doesnt have very much compression either..im thinking valves on that cause its got the 12:1 in there..and brand new gaskets...uhm...a low wattage bulb..i thinki got one ..does it have a pointer thing and a ground wire coming from the back and a bulb in the plastic handle case thing? the flywheel shouldnt be the problem since i had it before running jsut fine untill what i thought was the stator..anyway..yea it still aint getting spark which narrows it down to the flywheel..but i dont think its that..really for some reason i dont..they dont break to often and it still has its magneticity<---if you can read that you know what i mean
