Are you sure you're not talking about the air to fuel screw? If so I usally turn it in the whole way( be careful) then back out a turn and a half. This is my starting point for setting a carb. After that you then just have to fiddle with it till the bike runs the way you want it. just turn it 1/4 turn at a time.

im refering to the jet inside the carb when the bowl is removed , the one with a nut on it...and the other one inside the slide that you can adjust the clip to make it leaner or richer.....Im not sure how far down the one inside the bowl should be since I took apart the entire carb to clean it up.

when your looking at the bottom of the carb there is a screw with an oring to drain the gas out of the carb right under that is another nut with a washer if you were to remove that you can see the jet I'm taking about, and the other is in the top of tyhe carb when you look threw the middle you can see the needle jet thats the one you move the clip to make richer or leaner. hope someone can help me with adjusting both of these jets.

the main jet sould be tightened till it seats ( snug it ) not adjustable you just change them

needle position is 3rd groove for stock clip position
