I'm registering a tri-z for the road over here in the UK and I need a proof of age cirtificate from yamaha, only yamaha UK are about as much use as a flat tyre, Does anyone know a way I can get the proof i need, this is the last thing I need and then i can hit the roads. please help.

Wouldn't the frame (Vin) number be acceptable?

No they want proof from yamaha, its becoming a pain in the ass, ive spoke to a bloke on the internet who got his proof from america but he knew someone over there who sorted it out for him then posted to him for a small fee, I'd ask him but i've lost his e'mail address,

this is just what i need, the only trouble is it cost a lot for me to phone them from the UK, (I'll be cheeky now) If i was to post my frame number on here would someone be able to contact yamaha usa for me to find the info i need, Then send the certificate on to me, I'm willing to pay whatever it costs for there trouble and postage to the UK,

ive just found out that all i need is proof that the tri-z is more than ten years old, does anyone have a document or know where i can find information that says the tri-z was discontinued in 1986, or proof that they were only made in 1985/86. any info will help but it needs to be an official, or on headed paper from a motorcycle club like 3wheelerworld (hint hint).

A printoff from the Yamaha website showing 1986 as being the last production year would prove that the Z is more then 10 years old. How about that?

seems to me the model year on the little sticker on the fram would be enough

Also, the number TimSr provided is a tollfree 1-800 number, shouldn't cost you a dime.
