I got my bike all together today and it started up awesome. I went to put it in gear and it took off on me, so i had to hit the kill switch before i hit the wall.
After that i lifted it with the floor jack and put it back to neutral, I started it and then put it in gear, and the tires spun like crazy, i shifted to second and third then back down to neutral.
I then took it off the jack and went to put it into gear and nothing happened it would push up and down but wouldnt go into gear.
When i posted a thread a while ago about thinking i broke something in the shifter, i fixed that and it would shift no problem with the engine off.
It isnt in gear now, but the neutral light isnt turning on either, that could be because my ignition is buggered up too.
What could have happened. I heard no grinding or anything in the engine.
When i put it back together, we may have tightened the spring screws on the secondary clutch too much because we had trouble figuring out 4.3 foot/pounds.

thank you in advance

Ok, i checked it out, the clutch springs are definatly too tight. Would that be the reason it is doing that?

No they wouldn't make a difference. So now does it shift fine when it is off but not when it is running? Did you adjust the clutch since you put the clutch cover back on?

ya i adjusted the clutch.
When i first put it back together before i ran it, it would shift no problem. but as soon as i started it and put it in first, it started moving and now it wont shift at all, its stuck in neutral.

It shifts now, but the clutch is grabbing too much and it takes off when you put it in first, anyone have this happen to them before? Its revving normal too.
