On the back left my plastics are cracked on my 350x, I am wondering if there is something I can do to help or make it look better. I dont want to buy new ones, as I am going to ride the piss out of the back and Would hate to waste the money on fixing it to possibly crack them again (they were cracked when i bought it)
'I was thinking of trimming both sides to match, just by rounding the corner of the crack, what do you guys think?http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-12/903566/DSCN0590.JPG

dude, you should get it plastic welded back on or have some other color welded on and get it airbrushed!!!!or paint it with that crazy car bumper paint at the body shop....that stuff is crazy flexible! or you could just cut the sides completely off like the dune machines...IDK?!!lol

Well I dont have the old pieces and anything else would look weird I think. Do you have any pics of "Dune Machines" thats where Ill be riding so maybe it would be ok.
Also you guys wouldnt piss your self's laughing if you saw some trimmed plastics like that

You just cut the fenders off square or at an angle, so there is pretty much no rear fenders, just bobtails.

I think I am going to trim them in the manner that leaves as much fender as possible yet looks ok.

If you dont care how it looks use zip ties. Drill hole on each side of the crack--not too close or too far from the crack either. This makes it super strong...and looks like your trike has "stitches" :P.......however, i have noticed that it looks like you dont have the piece that broke off, so if i were you i would cut and trim it. But if you crack the plastic, my first idea is easy and cheap

Just cut it even on each side, if you wanted it to look real snazzy shave in a flame pattern on the outside of each fender and it'll look cooler than stock.

Why don't you just leave it instead of butchering your fenders for the sake of looks. If you leave it you'll have more mud and roost protection then cut fenders and it really doesnt look that bad as it is.

well the rason I dont leave it is because it is spreading and I dont want it to get worse.

Check out what someone did to my old 250r fenders. These things are solid as a rock, paintable too. Almost put them out with the trash today but forgot lmao

I don't plan on using them. They are pretty heavy with the fiberglass on them.

Donate them to someone, Im sure someone has a need for them. Throw it up in the classifieds section as a freebie, Pick Up only if you dont want to ship them, might make a good set of riding plastics for some one who has a pretty resto bike and doesnt want to risk the good stuff while they ride, its just a thought.
Hell if i lived in CO Id be looking in your trash so I could so some retro fitting to those to fit my X

If the crack is spreading you need to stich them up with wire. Do you know what I'm talkin about when I say rabbit wire? lol Its thin wire thats super strong. Anyway drill a few small holes on each side of the crack and lace it with wire like you would give someone stiches.

CUT EM! Who Cares what everyone else thinks!?!?! :beer
I used to cut on mine as they were chiping off in back all the time (Paddles were smack'n before rear shock rebuild). Just used a jewler saw and went for it, then would sand the edges so they weren't so SNAGish / sharp. Keep em even on both sides though IMO.
