View Full Version : 200 Big Red Help
I have a 1982 Honda Big Red 200ES. The light bulb was burned out when I got and I put in a new one today. When I turn the light switch on, the taillight goes out. Also the electric start wont work if the light bulb is in and the lightswitch is in the on posistion. I tried a tester light and it comes on. but there does not seem to be enough power to power the light switch. I am thinking this is the regulartor rectifier but any help would be great. The tail light works fine until I put the bulb in but when I put the bulb in the tail light goes out. I have checked the bulb and it does work.

according to what i am reading,,, it's supposed to take a 12 volt 45/45 watt bulb ( headlight ).
you didn't put a 6 volt in by mistake did you ? that will dim every thing alot.

Usually the wierder the electrical problem the more likely it is a ground. I would check the harness real close and check for broken ground wire or bad ground. You can use your test light to check for a good ground by clamping it to a 12 volt power soarce then probe the ground.
