Hey guys, i just wanted to let everyone know that today I got my first official business...
I am working out of my garage repairing four wheelers and bikes (and of course trikes)...

My first one done is a timberwolf... I had to do a winter inspection, and tune up..

Anyone have any pointers for doing this? (the business not the work)
Thanks
Josh

Honesty, honesty, honesty.....oh and did I mention honesty? Good mechanics are hard to find, good mechanics that are honest are extremely hard to find. If you treat your customers right they will be loyal to you. I know cause I too have a business. You simply cannot beat word of mouth and the only way to get good word of mouth is to do quality work.

Well honesty is not a problem for me..
As for word of mouth I have alot of people that are always giving me praises and this customer was atctualy refered to me by a friend that does work, but he just dosen'thave enough time right now.

Don't charge to little or you'll be swamped and it won't pay off. Also if your not sure you want a job just over bid it and let them decide. If you get it it will be worth it if not oh well you didn't want it anyway.

just talking about the tips and stuff on the board.
good luck, i know a guy that makes a living working out of the shop behind his house. the bad econy is actually helping him because fewer people can afford to have a "pro" do the work.

invest in manuals. they are very important.
