Tecate - Has anybody got an 84-85 with 86-87 fenders that actualy has a seat on it?

250 R pic - Note the homemade boost bottle. Does that even work? I heard boost bottles contribute absolutly no additional H.P. or performance.

That "boost bottle" looks strikingly similar to a shock resivoir canister.....

you could actually get boost bottles for the air cooled R's specifically 83-84, you needed a special intake manifold...i saw some on ebay a while ago... the brand was pro-tec...so that might not be home made...

Regardless if it's homemade or not, It looks funny. I've never seen one on an Atc before. Where would you mount it? Can anyone confirm that they work?

old yamahas had boost bottles from the factory ,,, they were called energy induction,,,, supose to build up a small charge when you were off the gas. when you jumped back on the gas it sent the charge to the intake so there was no flat spot in the low to mid range,,, if they helped it was pretty small,,, cause i have an old 250 yammy i have ridden with and without it and i can't tell much of any difference,,,,

by the way that 250r pict is a 300 kitted engine too!!!!!

Reply to B B RED.

My rz has a crossover tube like the banshee. It's supposed to help ballance the carbs on a twin. Thats what I was told. I was going to put a boost bottle on it, untill people said they don't work. I would like to see some dyno graphs between the two setups.

It's sad that you were the first to notice that in all those posts! I've been watching that auction cause of that and not the "boost bottle"

I had that tecate at my house for a few months but according to the owner, it has 85 fenders on it and he supposedly has the seat for it. It was not ever mine and i don't know much about it

That motor has the 300 kit, and the older boost bottles were made like that because they mounted next to the backbone. Whats strange about it?

My 85 Tecate with 86 fenders and a seat. I like that Tecate, I'd buy it for the extended axle, wheels and hubs...

$100 says thats a DG boost bottle, possibly with a sweet aftermarket intake too.

That is a DG boost bottle. I have a new one that I picked up recently off of Blazerone, look at pictures of his '82 250r,It has a really nice set up on it. Even if they don't do much, they are a cool looking old school piece. Just my opinion.

Big green, What kinda shock boots do you have on that? They look good.

Has anyone ever put 84-85 fenders on a 86?

I thought 300 kits had funky looking gold heads by dg, Who else made them?
To me it looked like an 83-84 head on an 81-82 250r base. I'm not sure. But thats why I'm here, to learn.
