Ok... I need some help ID'ing some of these tank plastics I got around here. I am going to try to have reproduction decals made, so that you Tri-Moto guys can clean up your plastics, and have some decals to put on them!

I know the 200 tank plastic is a 85 YTM200ERN .... did the regular 200 chain have the same decal?

The yellow 225DX plastics (L&R) that are NOT on the tank, are labeled '84 225DX... from that aspect, I'm assuming the blue tank side id from a 84 also?

If those are from 84 225DX's, then I need to know if the side plastics on the tank are from a 83 or a 85 225DX?

Any valuable input/verification would be greatly appreciated! I have them all scanned and going to send to the repro man....then if he wants to make them, I'll send him the origianls to work with. Broke my scanner in the process, but that's the cost of trying to help out fellow members get there Tri-Moto new decals! :D

I think the 200 plastic is '85
The 225 plastic (both sets) that is on the floor I think is '85 and the set that is one the tank is '84

HUh?? Is that a statement or a question?

I want to know the years, so I can have repro decals made up for you all.

OK, in the ads section of this site both these pics are listed as 1985 TriMoto's.

I am thinking that the top add is really from 1984 but now I am confused. I know what I will be looking up when I have more time tonight. Anybody else have any thoughts?

I'm all confused from those pics! I thought I had it all set, but then noticed the Yamahauler in the top doesn't have reverse and the tank is different than mine slightly!

Top ad the Yamahauler looks like a 84, cause it doesn't have reverse... cause the Yamahaulers I have are both YTM200ERN's...85 (only year with reverse!) And if you look closely, it doesn't say reverse, and the 200 is smilar to mine but not the same... I have both sets of plastics from them, and they are identical..... Did they make a switch mid model year to add the reverse? Or offer a 85 with reverse and one without reverse?

The bottom pic, the Yamahuler looks like the original one (83) But the 225DX in that pic looks to be a 84. Help!

I'm going to start pulling my old magazines next.... stay tuned!!!!

The tank decals in the top pic match my 83 225dxk. The 225 in the 2nd is different. Just because its supposed to be an ad for the 85 line up doesnt mean they didnt use an 84 for the pic.

Bruce, I guess i'll throw in what I know.. The yellow side plastics (ones that bolt to tank on each side) on the bottom of the pic next to the blue ones are off a 1984 225DX. From what i've seen and read.. the blue plastic is also 84'.

Yes, the blue ones are for a 1984 225 Dxn Tri Moto with Sky Blue plastic.I just wish you had both without the stickers on them.

Yeah what thefox said.....
The blue plastic looks like the side off of my 1985 YTM225DX.
I thought I would never have complete stickers again.
Thanks for taking the initative. You are a true crusader! :beer
Put me down for a set of side panel stickers for my DX!!!!!!!!

Ok, so now we have the 2 sets of DX plastic on the floor are from 1983. The one on the tank is 1984.

These from the Yamaha.com parts diagrams.

It looks like the 200 plastic is from a 1985 200ERN like you thought Bruce,

SIDE COVER YTM200N (1985)

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Yamaha changed the decals part way through production. The tank cover is very easy to switch so who know if the one they have on their trike is original, that is why I am trying to go by the pictures one this one.

Duh! I never thought of looking at my parts number CD. :o So the 200 chain drive in 85 had different decals than the ERN. Cool!

Thanks every one! I'll forward my scans to Harlan... and see if he wants to take on the job!
