Im goin to restore my old 70 thats has been laying around for 6-7 years and hasent been ridden and i cant figure out the year cause all of the stickers are worn or peeled off. Can you find out the year by the vin# somehow? for the 70's what year's interchange or do all. i could probly find all this stuff out myself but im lazy

ohh, and i realy dont think that it's ever been regestered.

most of the stuff 79-85 are all of the same.. so u shouldnt have a problem.. a pic will clr it right up

yes...the vin number can be deciphered to find out the year. post it up and i am sure someone can figure it out

I apologize Skippy but you need to be very careful as far as interchange. The flywheel, recoil, and other parts in this area, plus some of the heads all changed throughout years. This also mean gaskets.

well i was just looking at the specs and its gotta be between 82-85 cause i know its a four speed trani. do those years interchange?

If you give me the vin number i can tell you what year it is. If its not on the steering stem then look on the right side of the frame near the motor and it will be running in a vertical (up and down) line. I know that the trx 70's vin is that way but i dont know what the atc 70.
