atc90 tire removal

i have a 1972-73 atc 90 that i just got ill post pics if someone can tell me how to resize them . but i was wondering how to remove the rear tires? there is a black cap on the back axlethat just spins & doesnt want to pull off i dont want to break them. it has the OHTSU balloon tires

The black cap is just that, a cap. Try cafefully prying it side ways to get it off. Once it's off you will see the nut that holds the tire / hub on.
