I've been looking all over the place for a nice billet case saver for my R. I want the kind that has that extra piece that protects the shifter shaft portion of the case but I haven't been able to find the one I have in mind. I've seen them before. Did a search here, googled it, checked dennis kirk, rocky mountain atv and cal-atv but I'm just finding some generic ones that don't protect the shaft.

This is the closest one I've found so far. It's the one in the little pic. Not the one with flames on it.

I've seen some much nicer ones than that before but coming up dry now. 'lil help?

Your talking this style correct?

ESR, Nac's, K&K I believe all make this style in different colors.

No that's not the one I was looking for. It didn't have any holes in it other than for the mounting screws. I don't think that one protects the shifter shaft either. Unless it's upside down.

Does ESR make other styles also? Now that you mention I think it might have been from them. Too bad their web site is down.

heres one by Nac's, they are all about the same but I know you can get them without the holes from somebody.

Heres a K&K with no holes, kind of expensive but looks nice.

Here's one that protects the shaft. Still not the one I was looking for though.

The one I'm looking for doesn't go completely around the shaft like that, it just has a piece that goes in between the shaft and the chain.

Edit: Here's another. Probably best one so far.

I'm having a little better luck searching for images on google rather than links. :)

ESR needs to get their site back up and running. I havn't found one that only goes half way around.

I found a couple but they weren't for 250R's. This one is pretty nice but I haven't found a place I can actually buy it yet.

I like the looks of that one. Let me know if you find where to get them and a price. I think I've read that you get better protection from the narrow ones.

That is the one I have on my R. It is by far the best available. It is almost 1/2" thick and also protects the shifter shaft and he sells them cheaper than the ones that do not protect the shifter. I paid $25.00 for mine + shipping. He sells them on ebay. Just click the email link ( Starksmachinery) on the link you provided, that is also the name he uses on ebay. Hope this helps. It's top of the line man, you will love it!

How much clearance is there and what size sprocket are you using? A pic would be nice :naughty:

anything up to a 14 tooth with no problems. Here is a pic of mine with a 14 tooth sprocket installed. It's not the best pic in the world, I have a close up somewhere. If I find it i'll post it.

Hey Dammit if you find out where to get those case savers, let me know I have been scouring Ebay for a while since I last saw the others. I need one for each of my 250r's and I need them to fit a 14 tooth also. Maybe we should contact the guy from Ebay and offer to buy several and maybe get a better price.

Let me know for sure. :beer

We must have lit a fire under the guy. This is a link to pre order the case savers on ebay and decent priced at $22.95.

I noticed in his description of the case saver that he is no longer selling the polished one's like the one I bought from him last year. Just wanted to make sure everyone noticed that. It will still do the same job of course, just not as perty LOL.
