What chain do you use and why? What are the pros and cons of each? Spread that vast well of knowledge and experience. Feel free to include your favorite brand of sprockets in this thread as well.

Bigkahuna;

When I bought my 200M it had an o-ring chain on it. It was a bit tired so I replaced the chain and drive sprocket. I thought I would save a bit of money and use a non o-ring chain. That set up lasted about 30 hours of total run time. I have since replaced the chain (and sprocket) again but this time with an o-ring chain. It is much quieter now and I anticipate better life. I have already noticed less adjustment is necessary.

Ill second that! The O-Ring costs more, but is much less expensive in a very short period of time. X-Ring and O-Ring are pretty much the same. The O-Ring is smooth, where the X-ring has a ridged O-Ring in it. X-Ring is a later version of the O-Ring, and has replaced it by many MFG's. A non O-Ring chain is good if you need to put something cheap on to sell it, but thats about it.

Some racers use non-o-ring to pick up a little more rear wheel HP. The o-ring chains have more drag to them but not enough for any of us to notice. O-ring is the way to go but be careful when shopping, just because your getting an o-ring chain it doesn't mean your getting a stronger one. Check all your specs before you settle on one.
