I have had a couple people over the last few weeks come in to the store here (asking about parts) tell me that there is a honda dealer about 50 miles from here that still has some ATC's brand new in the box that they couldnt get rid of. Now I have told them that this isnt possible but they insist that this is true. What are the odds of something like this?? I am going to call this dealership tommorow and find out if such a thing exsists but i am not holding my breath.

I doubt its true but if it is then that is the find of a liftime.

It was my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that Honda issued a "product retraction" and "bought back" most of the ATCs from their dealers. If that was the case, why would anyone who owned a dealership at the time effectively loose the money out of their product investment like that. I doubt its true - but - don't let that keep you from checking it out. Also, I wouldn't call them about it either - go in person (bring a camera) tell them about 3WW and our passion with these trikes. Might make the doors open a little easier.

Yeah they were (suppose to). But we all know that 87 models were suppose to be dissasembled and ...... But many folks have them, Including me. :beer

That's in Texas? If it turns out true, may be worth a trip. Allthough 50 miles from you is still a long way from me!

It is very possible, I know he local dealership here had a couple Z's (Nesco's "Fun For Sale" Yamaha - arctic cat dealership). It was about 2 years ago when I was ordering parts for my bike me and the owner got talking about ATC's, and he told me they had a couple in crates unbuilt in the storage barn (right next door to the dealership). He took me down there and showed me the inside of the barn, it is PACKED with dirtbikes/atvs/sleds in crates, so it was pretty much out of the question to get to the back of the barn and see them for myself, but he told me they were there. Every year they get rid of some of the stuff in storage to make room for the new models, so I am unsure if they are still there, or if they ever truly were. Either way it was fun to think about, and its cool thinking about a brand new Z just sitting there still boxed up in pieces.

I'd really prefer if the NY guys gave Mike a call and talked to him about it, even if he DID have them, and they COULD be bought, I sure as hell wouldnt have the money. Come on Bruce, Holic, etc.. http://nesco-funforsale.com/

Im sure there are a couple out there somewhere, but as many times as Ive heard variations of this story Im beginning to think that there are more brand new trikes in dusty crates in barns than are being ridden today!

allright, I tried contacting them and here it is, the woman said she would ask the "guys in the shop" and here is her reply. Too bad, I would have been making a road trip!

Hi ,

We do not have that in a crate.

But we do have:
YF2450
YF2350

We can sub one of these for the Tri 2.

Ha Ha
Nice Try
Did it work?

WTF? Was she trying to make a joke? And i've never heard of Lori working there. She must be "in the back" doing the computer crap. I will tell you this -the "guys in the shop" ronny, jim, etc.. are idiots who have no common sence. Awhell.. I shared what I was told awhile back, Too bad, sorry to get your hopes up, I will personally go talk to Mike sometime though.

That is where i bought my NOS thumb throttle for my Z.

Hey i was talking to some guys down at the local motorcycle repair and junk yard near me called Doc's. i was talking about trikes since that is were i got my beast (that is now back to life again) and he was saying there is a place in australia that sells Brandnew ATC's and other Three Wheeler's. He also said that those hard to find parts are made there as well. am guessing there is a honda plant there. anyways he said the have a web site but he couldnt remember it. If this is true then we all can get new trikes but shiping would be expensive.

Hey Jmack,

I HIGHLY doubt that is true but if it is get us some more info. Shipping wouldent be too expensive for me since im in "that neck of the woods".
I think if this was true we would of heard about it by now. The only thing i can think of is www.atcheaven.com, they dont sell new atc's nor trikes but have some good parts for them.

hahahaha....NESCO!!!!! that is like 20 mins from me!!!! they definately dont have any trikes!!!!! although they do have some nice race yfz's they race at the drags....also they have really nice parts/service guys.....i got ripped off on ebay with a *%^&ed up yz250 motor and they were cool about giving me an estimate for ebay to give me my money back and they had no problem with it and printed out a three page long estimate for 800$...they were cool and said it wasnt fair for me to go through all that...lol, a little off topic, but they are also a arctic cat dealer too....and all ive heard about is good things about them...

i think that rumour of new atcs being made here(australia) may be true. a while back, like 5 months ago i bought this magazine called "bike trader" and i was flipping thru it and saw a dealer add for a 2003 atc90. now this was before i even knew they didnt make trikes anymore so i didnt think a thing about it, but if i can remember it looked exactly like a trx90 with only three wheels, new style plastics, new style seat and it really did look brand new.

That would be hell good if they did make new atc's here in Aus. I'd be in the market for the newest, biggest and best Honda Utility trike out there. It'd be bye bye 250es, but until then shes here to stay.
