85 350x headlight question

Was wondering if there is a difference in the 85-86 Headlight mounting....On my 85 it is held on with rubber hold downs and when turning the bike the tabs hit the Air Shrouds....has this happend to anyone???

The headlights are the same.... the air shrouds are different!

If you have 85 and 86 shrouds on top of each other, the "bottom" front corner is the same, but the top of the 86 is more 'vertical' and pulled back towards the driver. It was a revision made between the model years because of them catching on the forks. For this reason, I've only bought the 86 tank shrouds.

I'm heading down to the shop today. I'll pull out my old 85 shrouds and my 'spare' NOS 86 shrouds I bought last year and take comparison pics.

I drew about where 86 fins would end on top of your pics.. They are different part numbers made from different molds. I've never tried to buy 85's so maybe they were superceded by the 86 ones. Either case, last I heard they are discontinued anyhow. (At least one side??) Any further news on this?

Seems like Service Honda's were 27 a piece.... www.servicehonda.com I stocked up on an extra set or 2 ! :D You need the part number? the 86 number's the same as 85, but 670ZA at the end if I remember right.
