This is a picture of a Husky, the one I own is a Craftsman. I bought it at a flee market and the handle unscrewed and never really worked to begin with. Either that or i never used it right :Bounce snapped more than 1 head off a bolt. Well here's the pic for reference to it's design.

Only hand tools have life time warrenty, items such as torque wrenchs, impacts, power drills usually only carry a 1 year warrenty.
Sears will probably send it in to a rebuilding facility and charge you a small fee to rebuild and calibrate it.

I returned a craftsman torque wrench before and Sears gave me a new one,,no questions asked. Home depot should replace the HUSKY wrench as well.
get a snap on. they are rated the best for torque wrenchs. pricy but you get wat you pay for.

You dont want to rebuild a $1500 dollar machine with a $10 Torque Wrench, just an opinion....

If it's a craftsman take it back to sears. that doesnt tell him if it can be fixed or not.

sears wont take it. that kind in particular only has a years warranty. i guess for $60 i might as well buy a new one and not bother fixing it. Craftsman sux ass, i'll take husky over craftsman garbage from now on. they've screwed me on MULTIPLE tools, this torque wrench, drop light, soldering iron, the list goes on.

Excuse me? Lets' not be a smart ass here. Craftsman tools are known for their warrantys. I wasn't aware that the torque wrenches didn't have a lifetime on them.

Sorry pal, I just noticed you telling them to stop something that you started? I replied to your PM :) .

Well to get back on track here,I had an SK brand wrench that did the exact same thing.it was covered under warrenty. If you need to buy a new one I would recomend one of them. They cost about $75 but I think it is a life time warrenty.I have had the new one for about 5 years and have torqued about 500 head gaskets down with no problems.Or like someone said before you might be able to send it in and have it fixed, but it is going to be about the cost of a new one.
