one of the pics is me standing in front of my trike after i drove through the river a few times. the mud was so heavy the fenders were almost touching the tires. the other one is a shot of one of the mud holes at st.malo. the malo derby is one of the first derbys of the year, early spring.

I thought it was "wrong" to put a 250r in the mud. Think I may have to try that. Looks fun.

Ah hah, I've been at that spot at the river, is that the river itself or the flood plain? Near lockport sort of right?

Here's a pic of our friend Pete. He's the only one crazy enough to drive straight into the deep stuff.

The first pic is the view of our local mud-bog racing track.
Pic 2 is me on the 185s up against a 400 Foreman. I was the only trike in the race, so I had no one on three wheels to compete against. I took on all comers anyway. I'm in the yellow suit.
Pic 3 Shows me neck and neck with the Foreman. I eventually lost out. Never won a single heat, actually, but I came close and without a doubt I drew the most cheers and had the most popular machine at the race.

Pic one is my 13-year-old on the 185 bombing through the heavy stuff with his buddy riding on the rear rack.

Pic 2 is the end result!

Is that trailprotrailpro SX? It looks so small next to the larger cc quads.

Here is shot of my Z in the mud...http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3279

Sorry thats the closest I get after the episode in November 1983...

...here is what happened. I was a 10 year old kid with a new 1983 ATC 70. Sure it was small and the other kids made some fun of me...but I love it. I never really went mud running (hard). You know where you are just really going at it for hours.

Sure I would run through a puddle now and again but nothing major. Well one day I decide to really ride it in the mud. My dad said it was too muddy and not to go....but I did not listen.

I rode around in the mud for hours. The little 70 worked like magic and handled it well. When it was time to clean the trike off I noticed something wierd about the tank stickers. The part where my knees were had made them white.

I thought well maybe I just did not clean it good or that it was some left over soap. But nope...I realized that the mud on my jeans acted like sand paper as my knees rubbed against the shiny red tank. In fact some of the tank had parts of the paint rubbed all off right down to to the bare metal!

I cried and cried all that night. I never forgot what I did and everytime I looked at my 70 since then I had a sad feeling.

I should have put duct tape over the tank. Oh..well... I just don't ride in mud and thats the last time I ever did.

THE END

Beutiful bike Darius, I wouldn't ride that in the mud either.I even dodge mud holes on my bigreds when I can.

Dammit!

This is the muddiest you will ever see this trike.

Darius1502

Dammit!,

Yeah thats about how muddy I like them to get. Its when they are covered and you are covered with mud that you start rubbing paint off.

You can't repaint the tank stickers and at the time I was 10 years old. I would rather just get a new bike or quad muddy.

My trikes I want to last. Mud just ages everything at 5X the normal rate. Some people say sand does the same thing.... I say B.S.

I guess thats why all of the cleanest trikes come from Arizona and Cali. Very few mint trikes survive the outside of the western U.S. I think thats why.

Heres some "aftermath" pics for you..... these were taken a few years back. About a month after I got my SX, I did this riding on a one lane road that followed a river ("river road" in Coffeyville). Note that there is no gap between the frame downtube and the engine case. This wasnt just mud, this was mud with chat which set up like cement.
