Does anyone have a trick to breaking a tire off of a rim? Ive been trying to get this one tire off a rim for 2 hours now ive beat it with a 5 pound sledge hammer and everything i can think of other than bringing it up to get it broke off which i think is what im gonnna do. So any tips would be nice so i dont have to spend money on this stupid thing.

Put a 2x4 board on the bead of the tire a drive a truck or something on it. If that dont work, try the same technique with a bottle jack on the hitch of your vehicle (pinch the bead between the jack which is on the ground and the hitch)
When I changed the tires on my Foreman, I had to actually cut them off with a Dremel tool...nothing would break them

2x4 works great but like said you need alot of weight to push it down.

Yea, you got that right. At the time, my dad had a Chevy 1500 company truck and all it did was break the 2x4. If you have one, use a 4x4 board or even square steel tubing or something that can take the weight.
Good luck

I was thinkin about just bringing it to the service station. I could try the board on the bead thing though my dads got 2 semis should break the bead then!!

If you're within 15 minutes drive from a gas station....
save yourself the bleeding knuckles and sweat !.. and you don't risk messing up your rim !

The rim is a pile and no good some one that had it before me didnt put washers on the studs and ovalized the holes so if the rim gets wrecked i dont realy care i just want the tire. Ya i think im gonna bring it to the station and have it done it is actually like 15 minutes away.

Some can but you gotta have a special tool for it.
Dammit!

Well worth the money to have a bike shop do it in my opinion. It's too much of a pain in the butt without the right tools.

Most auto stations dont use a press for tires. ATV tires suck to change at home. Will never do again.

We used to do all of our tire changeing at home but these tires just dont want to break off!!
some change easy, OEM tires can be a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro tho, try this, mix some canola oil with some gas and spray it around the bead, then use the sledge hammer and swing and hit the tire as close to the bead and rim as you can without hitting the rim, this should break the bead if you swing it heavy enough, i can change a trike tire in about 5 mins, but then again i have had ALOT of practice (step dad owns tire shop) but if all else fails just take it to a shop and have them break it,
