Hondaline Front Fender Stabilizer...Better with it or without?

Quick question:

I know the front fender stabilizer offered by Hondaline could be useful if you have the front fender extension....but if you don't have that is it really needed?

Second question:

Do you guys like the looks of them or do 250'r's, 350x's and 200x's look better without them?

I like the look of them if I look at them from certain angles lol but I think they would help alot if u do alot of mudding reguardless.

Darius, I've never liked them & never will. It messes up the clean lines of the front fender IMO.

I don't like the extender, not to hot on that head light guard either. Trike looks sweet other than that.

Yeah...I don't like it either. But since they drilled holes in the damn front fender to mount the stabilizer that means I;ll have to get a new front fender.

I will leave the gaurd on since its also a Hondaline and I like it.

What do you think the stabilizer will bring on eBay?

I like the looks of both the guard and stabilizer plus there both hondaline so it makes them that much cooler, if you do decide to sell the stabilizer.. the hondaline ones i've seen go on ebay went for a pretty good amount, just make sure you advertise it good, it will fit a variety of bikes, not just the 250R.

I don't care for it. The 1985 to 1989 KTM's had them. I found this 3WW member's trike and I really like the look of the R without it.

Red Rider knows this stuff...it ruins the flow of the front fender and headlight.

really? i would do the opposite, keep the mint one all stock and put the extra stuff on a daily driver.

With Hondaline parts sometimes its hard to decide to keep them or take them off. I do think that if it were a 350x I would keep the stabilizer. I like the way it looks on the '86 350x...perhaps since the silver stabilizer and white plastic don't clash.

thanks for the help. Once the 'R' comes in I'll snap some pics for everyone...I am so excited I can't even work today. I keep pulling out my old 86' 250r brochure and drooling. Funny thing is that I picked it up at the Houston ATV and Motorcycle Expo in late 1985. I was 12 years old.

Hmmmm.... not too sure on that.... I know it will NOT fit a 350X. The high ridges don't match up where it bolts at the end.

I never liked the stabilizers or the headlight guard. The stabilizers don't even do anything though. At least the headlight guard could come in handy.

Well, I got a front fender extender on my 350X and I might still put that one on my 82R, so then the stabilizer comes in handy.... if not, the fender vibrates and bounces in the wind, especially when mudding!

Funny thing is I have a new fender extender and stabilizer hanging on the wall in my garage, won't put them on the bike since the front fender is new too. I got lucky when I got my stabilizer off ebay for $25. I have seen them go as high as $60 to $80. If mine was a daily rider, i would have to put it on though. Its just one of those old school attention getters.

Speeking of that the light guard on the bike under this quote needs to go for cleen lines.Or put on the break guard if you are holding on to stock.

I am going to sell the stabilizer on eBay...hopefully get 60 to 70 for it and the go buy me a new front fender. Its a shame because the original decal is on the front fender. I just don't want holes in my fender.
