I am trying to change all seals and bearrings in the whole rear end of my 1986 Honda 250es Big Red. The manual is very vague when it comes to doing this. Does anyone know where i can find detailed instructions on how to do this. Has anyone here ever done this before?

I have to do this to my 85 250 SX too.

first thing is to go to Honda and spend a fortune on bearings.. next part is to take it all apart, fairly basic stuff tho. remove wheels. the left side of the axle has a cover that holds ( in my case ) 2 bearings plus a seal.....

no brain surgery, but i know the feeling !

Yeah but I'm also changing all the seals and bearings in the gearbox and swing arm. It gets a little more complicated there.

Clymers. Why, are the other ones better? If so, where do I get them from? I wish I could have one made specifically for Honda Big Reds 250es models from 85-87.

i think it takes all 3 to cover all the info needed. i have found missing or wrong info in clymers ( 250r i think it was ) and the 350x honda manual just figures you are a honda tech and know about all the little details they don't go into detail about.
i don't know if haynes makes manuals for the bigred but really never did like those manuals anyway ,,,
