I just got my 200x running and I found that first of all it shakes like crazy, second of all it shakes so bad that the choke flips itself up. I never used a torque wrench during the rebuild, maybe there are too many loose bolts? :D
Dammit!

I have never, never had that happen. Does it have a bent axle?

Something is wrong with it to shake that bad.

this is all while tuning the motor and revving it up!

then you need to take that motor apart, and rebuild it because SOMTHING is waaaaaaay off.. a bent rod wont vibrate that much but a bent crank defaintly will... take the crank out and send it to a machien shop to see if its straight

Maybe it's nervous! Does it idle very fast?

Yeah my 200x did that to me one day ,I was riding by myself in the midle of nowhere the engine stoped I checked everything ,spark ,fuel yada yada yada .Finally I found the problem and she started.A couple of months later I was riding and the crank shaft broke on the flywheel side and it made a real mess.

I would'nt start that puppy until you iron out the kinks.....
that don't sound good at all.

For your sake, I hope it's a loose motor mount.
But if your valves are knocking that bad, I'd listen too bigredhead as if they were my grandmother with her lickin' stick in hand.

i think it's ok, it was just revving too high. still ironing out the kinks. took it for it's first blast down the street only in second gear to see how it ran. Ran great, however it has an air leak between the cylinder and the head. You can hear it crack sometimes and I can feel the air being forced out. I'll have to check the gasket this weekend.

If you're choke is turning on by itself then it sounds like your fetzer valve is sticking and is full of gunk. :wondering

i had my choke kick on a couple of times the other, day but that was doing 5th gear holding it right to the pins for a while, but it was cause my choke lever was loose

mine did that..i figured it was getting too much air and pullin it shut..im not the smartest one alive but i turned the af screw more to the fuel side and it worked fine from there on..i also had a couple loose engine mounts
My 82 Air cooler 250r used to vibrate so bad the cylinder hold down nuts would come loose, I pulled the moter down several times to try to find an answer, sounded like the crank was bad but a machine shop told me it was out a bit, but nothing to worry about.
Anyway, I eventually fixed the problem, sold it to some unfortunate and got myself an 86 water cooler!
