View Full Version : Gear problem
Gotta problem with the screw and the retaining nut that takes the tention off the transmision when the throttle is not pushed. It sets in the gearbox. the problem is that it will not turn, it seems locked in place. You can wiggle it back and forth, but it wont turn, and yes I did loosen up the retaining nut befor trying. It used to turn, and I could adjust it, but now I cant. The gears seem to be shifting ok, a little clunky, but they were always a bit clunky. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I assume you are talking about the cluch adjuster on the riight side engine cover. Sometimes they will get dirty and stuck, if you take off the cover you can clean it up and get it unstuck easily but remember to drain the oil first!
Oh Yea thats what it's called.......The clutch adjuster, I'll try to clean it up, thanks for the info

It is very possible that someone screwedthe bolt all the way in too far. A way to fix this is to remove the side case, you will also want to remove the lock nut ( and o-ring behind it. Pull the assembly out and get the bolt unstuck. Once unstuck re-install everything. If you can't get the bolt loose let me know. I can fix you up with one. ;)
