my 200x's connecting rod took a dump
i cannot find a 86-87 200x connecting rod anywhere... except for bikebandit, and those are stock
i'd like to put an aftermarket rod
the 86-88 trx 200sx has the same motor, exceot for the manual clutch on the atc model, the 2 bikes are even in the same repair book together
they make a high performance rod for the trx, but not the atc
are they the same ?

will a 86-88 trx 200sx connecting rod fit the 86-87 atc 200x ?
any info will be greatly appreciated

i assume your talking about the aftermarket rod kit made by versah. i went to their website and they don't list a crank kit for the 86/87 200x. at bike bandit the rod part #'s are one number off between the trx and x. you'd think they would be the same. unless you have a real big bore kit or are running high rpms the stock rod should be ok

what i dont understand is.... that the engine are identical, except the trx has automatic clutch, when the atc has a manual

on my brothers 200x, we out a complete trx 200sx top end on his atc
and it worked fine
but i never checked the crank, because i didnt need it then
the whole vesrah, or j & l crank kit is around 75$
if i ordered the parts one by one from bikebandit
it would be about 160
i'm going to buy the trx 200sx rod kit... and if the rod is different, i'll buy one rod from bike bandit, but i'll still use the cage, and all the bearings and such
it'll still come out cheaper
