I am wanting to lower the final gear ratio on my 3wheeler for better climbing. I was told that a smaller front sprocket is the way to go, but I figure that someone here has done this and will be able to help out.

That's correct get a one-tooth smaller front sprocket from denniskirk.com

Many people here use a 1-tooth smaller sprocket at times, like for trail riding. Then you could always go to back to stock if you need more top end a different day.

FWIW, your 185s has less aggressive gearing than the 200s. So, the ATC200s got better gearing and was more torquey.

You might have some better luck by replacing your 41 tooth a 47 tooth rear sprocket from the 200S.

Coincidentally, I have a 86 200-S I just picked up for 100 bucks. I'll rob the sprokets off it and see what happens. Thanks. :D
