hi guys, I just picked up an 84 Tecate 3. There are obvious differences in the years for these things, and was wondering if the more technologically set up tecate's from 86-87 were interchangeable with my 84. For example, could I put my 84 engine in a 86 chassis, or could a 86 front end fit on my 84 chassis? Any feedback is appreciated

The 86/87 T3 frontend bolts onto the 84/85 frame. You would need the complete frontend including tripples, forks, hub, axle and brakes. The 84 radiator would have to be bolted onto the forks or placed somewhere else.
The early Tecate motors are not interchangeable with the later model 86/87.

86 parts are like an enigma.(expensive and hard to find). 84-85 seem to be more common. engines are not interchangeable, as far as I know.

You may want to check the classified section rather than a thread thats been dead for almost seven years... or there is one on eBay for $70

$200 is cheap!!!!!!!! That's the price you pay for something uncommon.
