cobra and dg = valve eaters? all of them?

PPL call the cobra's and dg's valve eaters, but are they all? what about the aluminum cobra's and the aluminum dgs, krome's and xcellerators?, i'm guessing the xcellerators are pretty good quality, (price being a hint), but what about the rest of them? have ppl with the bottom line cobra's and dg's have noticed power loss after a period of time? do you drive your trikes hard :naughty: i do

Iv had a cobra on my lakota foralmost 2 yrs and it has been fine

If you jet your carb and adjust your valves properly you won't have a problem.

i agree. i have a cobra megaphone on my 110 and run it hard and i never had any problems

Just like Dammit says....if you're valves are adjusted properly and your jetting is right, you should have NO problem.

The "valve eating" stems from TOO LEAN and poor (or NO) valve adjustment.

Get those addressed and your trike will ROCK.

or exhaust leak near the valve....that is a big one

Yeap, most people just slap a pipe on, don't do anything to the carb, then want to blame the pipe when they run it too lean.

i will agree i had a megaphone on my 185 and u just had to address the valves and carb issues and trailprotrailpro going to rock

on my auto 200x I have the stock 200 carb on it and it runs perfectly and it has a 105 main jet with the dg krome power exhaust, then i wanted to get a litle bit more power out of it still, so i put the original 200x carb on it and it floods out if you leave the gas valve on, so i switched it back to to regular 200 carb, with the regular 200 carb the plug actuall lookes sorta blakish, and i have a dg krome power exhaust on it. so i am not changing the jetts in the carb beacuase it is already sorta running rich as it is, but i have needle clip at the leanest position at the top of the clip so maybee this acts like an equalizer type thing for that pipe. because when i had the pipe on originally it would not run worth a dam so i just moved the clip up or down till it ran great, and plus I just rebuilt the entire engine with new piston rings and gaskets and grinded the valves.

No, just regular adjustment. Im not sure what it is but on a few i own it is .003.
