Started working on my 250R tank today. This is about the worst i've ever seen one.

I spent about 20 minutes on it today, but i'll spend some more time on the finish after I get it all red again!

Aside from a few deep gouges, it should look like new when i'm done.

Wow...talk about a difference. The top of the tank on my TRX is almost that bad. Whats the secret?

I did the same thing to the tank on my '85. About 2 hrs with fine steel wool and it looked like new, smooth and shiny just like new. It looked like the "white" one in the pic before I started.

One person I know took all the dirt and other scum, sanded some rust then took it to his uncle's gereage were it was bead blasted, Took a couple coats of a dark primer, Then some kind of hi gloss pearl white thn shoved it into this huge oven! OH MAN< was that sweet- looked like it just come off the assembly line -needless to say the bike was stolin a couple days later, never to be seen again
