I am wondering if a plus 2 axle is a good upgrade for my 85 200x? I found one for $120 and I was wondering if anyone has one and if you do how do you like it. thanks.

Does he have anymore? You'll definetly notice a difference in the handling. If you ride the woods much though, you'll also notice "That those trees are closer together" heh.

They are nice on a track or riding open areas, but if you ride the woods in the midwest youll find that not only are the trees closer together, but its difficult to ride beside the rut in stead of In it, and youll find that it is a huge disadvantage in the mud, and that you get stuck on the swingarm a lot more. 2" in itself is not bad, but if you couple that with offset rims, or offset hubs, its going to hurt as much as help. Im probably in the minority on this, but if you need wheel spacers to keep it upright, you need more practice riding. As I recently advised somebody in a joking spirit, (because he is an excellent rider) "Get rid of those wheel spacers and learn to ride a 3 wheeler!"

I don't have a problem at all with keeping her on all three's well most of the time its on two wheels. I was just intrested in it because it seemed like a good up grade and I figure it would add just a little stability. You are right about the downs side being that trees are closer together and if there is a good trail goin up a hillside it is a little harder to get her in the groove.

If you're talking about the one Mudfreak99 is selling on another website, it will lighten your wallet, but is not likley to affect handling since you'll probably never receive it to install.

Besides the 200X, what other trikes will these widen out a bit?
350X? (different than 200X right?)
81-84R? (seems like 83-85 hubs worked on my 82R)
Thanks!!!

300ex style hubs will fit the axles on a wide range of machines. This is just a partial list of 3 wheelers:
All years of these machines: ATC70 ATC110, ATC125m, ATC185, ATC185s, ATC200, ATC200e, ATC200es, ATC200m, ATC200s, & ATC200x.
They also fit 75-78 ATC90, 81-84 ATC250r,
And those are just the Honda 3wheelers ( I may have missed 1 or 2 ).
These will also fit other makes and models. I know they fit the 86-87 Tecate and some Yamaha's, I think the fit some Suzuki's as well.
Not bad of a list with just using my memory. lol

You can also get newer wheels from 250x,300ex,400ex,ect.ect.They have a different offset then the stock 200x,and it will add a couple of inches to the width.I had 250x hubs with 400ex rims on my 84 x,and it was almost 4'' wider then stock.

Cool... thanks for the info all.... The only extensions I got for my R are the 82 style ones (4-135mm?) Anyhow, I just have regular knobbies on my gold 82R rims.... I'm going to have to get a set of those 300EX hubs to put on those 903R H-Trac tires I got that are on the 4-110mm offset rims!
Any combos to widen out a 350X a bit?

I think durablue still offers an 81-82 250R extended axle. I looked at their site a long time ago and seen it. They still offered one for the 200x too, I was impressed.

well tim sr. is right when he said it's a disadvantage in the woods or mud,but then again my bike is +8 so thats a little more extreme then a +2,regardless you will notice a diffrence in the stabilty of the bike.

What did you do to get +8?

If you are going sideways across a steep dune you may notice 2 one each side.

well when i got the bike it had 3 inch spacers on each side, thats 6,then the 1 inch collars that are on every axle, that makes it 8.the thing is crazy wide, check out the pics,do a search on derrick adams and the 85 250r is mine, check out those spacers!!!!

Well I'm not getting the axle anymore since the guy changed his mind and said he wouldn't ship it to me untill he got the money. He has very bad feedback so I said well screw you because your not going to screw me!
