well i was all set to pick up a Z in two days time until my big mouth cousin had to say that hes ridden a 250r and its way powerful and i should stay away from the Z. now my mum isnt allowing me to get it. do you guys think that a 170 pound 16 yr old would be able to handle the Z.

Your plenty big enough and at 16 ,you should be mature enough to handle a bike like that.
Good luck

I weighted 150 and had a Suzuki 1000 rocket. if i can hang on to that you can handle a Z. I have a Z that is built and now weight 180 and it is no problem.

First time I rode a 250R I was around 12 and only weighed about 135 pounds. Does that mean other 12 year olds should ride them? No. It's more about skill level than age and size and nobody here can answer that question but you.
Good luck though. If you haven't ridden a water pumper before and you do get it, just be careful until you get the hang of it. Actually you should probably be careful after you get the hang of it too. :p

Go buy it while she away, then when she comes home, make sure there is no grass left in the lawn, just strange crop cirle like patterns sprinkled with sod, and yank a wheelie down the road in front of her, she'll figure out you know what you're doing.
JUST KIDDINg, but when I was young, I was dumb, and thats the stuff I put my mother through, lol.
The very first trike I ever road, was my aunts 350x (that woman can ride!)
She eventually was going to sell it, and I had my mother convinced too buy it for $500..........My auunt fixed that for me, she road it front of my mother and my mother seen how fast it went, and forget about it, my grandmother neighbor bought it, I just talked too him about buying it recently, and the @$$%^&*#$%ER!!!!! took the motor off and put it on a quad. (don't cry boys, but I choked when i heared it the first time)
I would have had a 350x, for $500 thats not heard of, rare back then, non-existant now:(

Your sixteen. Have you ridden a two-stroke 250 nething before? When you crack the throttle its an eye opener believe me. I rode my 85 Tecate for the first time last week coming from a fourstroke utility 400 and Yamaha FZ1000 background. Believe me, I got off that thing cursing at how damn quick it was and I've cracked the throttle back on my cousins FZ, my bro in laws CBR and my own 500 streetbike and the Tecate by far put the bigger grin on my face as well as scared me more lol. If you think your ready then you probably are, tell your mom the throttle works both ways, you can close it just as fast as you can open it. rant off

thats what I had to do, start jabbering away to get my R's. Mother doesnt relize how much power a 2 stroke has, she has no idea what I have lol. So one of these days when the 84 R is fixed, im doing like bonkers said and popping her up lol.
Just give your mom the ole familiar its the rider not machine talk. Ive rode a 86 Tri Z before, I was 14 (15 now) and was about 155. Im 15 now and 16-165, I could handle it ok, lots o power, just because I wasnt used to it thats all.

I was in the same boat as you, about 5 weeks ago. I bought an A/C R thats built. the idiot rode wide open past my mom and i while we were lookin at it...shes like "no, its two fast. besides its only got 3 wheels" i slyly replied " i know :D :naughty: :naughty: "
anyways...keep at your folks like i did...dont nag at them though. point out everything good...say u can use it for work. (hehehe, i get to drive it to work AND SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!)
good luck

That really bites man. One of my friends got screwed in a similar way by his aunt talking crap like that. Just convince her that just because you are a teenage guy (like me and others here) doesn't mean your an off the wall testosterone pumpin' lady chasin' adrenaline junky like you probably really are like me and other guys here. Just don't get the guy selling it to do stupid stuff with your mom around, and for the first few months when you have it take it easy, put forth a good display, and chances are you'll be easily getting more cool trikes. Sometimes the examples we show stop us from getting what we want, sort of like a 10 year old showing his mom crusty 4 and asking to get a dirtbike.

Do you have the maturity to take it easy, and not ride beyond your limits until your use to it? Probably.
Can you convince your parents that? Thats up to you, but that is what will make the decision or not. Tell them its a good prep before you get a car or a truck and start driving on your own or something :p

Who are you kidding? Have you even rode a Tri-Z?
I started out on my 250R at 16 going from my klt160. It's totally different, but more than manageable. Just becareful with it for awhile, and ask your parents to please give you a chance to try it.
They can easily resell it, if your wreckless with it.
yes i have drivin a tri-z, its more stable than an R and has about 8 less horsepower..so its tamer lol
