Aftermarket coil?

Does anyone know of place to buy and aftermarket coil for a 185s? I just don't want to buy on from Mr Honda. Thanks

o that im not sure if you can get them aftermarket..i could call the honda shop or my actual local dealer and find out for u if there is one made..ill call and see..there open for another 15 minutes :) what year 185s?

i called my closest dealer and he said there are no aftermarket coils that u need but the oem is 88 bucks.. hope thats a good price range..i wouldnt get it ..i would jsut get the one on ebay for 25 bin..well it was there im not sure if it still is...by the way someone parted out a 185 on there so theres alot of parts for it

Has anyone tried the hyperparts coil? Hey 83185s, could you do me a favor and ohm out your coil and post the resistance? I am trying to trouble shoot and elec. problem. Thanks

i bet its your stator and i dont even know what the prob is..lol..stators have a habit of going bad in the 185-200 engines...what ohms should they be and how do i test it someone? put the red to the spark plug wire and the black to a bolt hole or the clip ?

here you go mick ,,,, don't mind 185-s ,,,, his trike eats stators for breakfast ( and sometimes lunch + supper too - lol ) .
i couldn't resist that one 185-s :)

Well I ohmed out my coil and I believe the secondary winding is bad. It read 1.300 M ohms so this is for sure bad. If I ohm it out without the plug cap on it reads 3.75ohms. Has anyone tried the coil off www.hyperparts.com for the 185s?

I ordered both the Stator Coil and Ignition Coil from Hyperparts.com and have had no problem with it.
