Somebody verify this for me or tell me I'm wrong.
To the best of my memory, there's no such thing as a real 200R. There were a bunch where I grew up that guys used to race but all they were was a 250R that was modded with a smaller bore cylinder (maybe different stroke etc I don't know for sure what all was involved in the mod) so they could race in the 200cc 2-stroke class. You could even buy a seat at the time that said 200R on it and make it look official but no such trike was ever in distribution by Honda that I can remember.

There was a Honda 200R made, but it was made for the factory racers only. it was definetly not a public bike. It has been said at the time they built it, it cost Honda over 20g's.

That's just it though. It was never in distribution. I doubt there was very many made for their racers. There were kits you could buy to modify a 250R that were popular with the race crowd but... it was just a regular 250R with a kit on it. Even the factory bikes didn't seem to be much different (at least visually... looked like a 250R with a short track kit on it). If the factory bikes had something especially different about them, it would be helpful to find out what it was so they could be identified. Anyone have good pics of those factory race bikes? Otherwise any 200R you're likely to see is probably just a converted 250R.
I wish I would have taken more pictures back then.

By the way, I grew up in NW Ohio. Used to go to races in MI at... Milin? I can't remember how to spell it (pronounced Mile in). Used to see those modded 250R's running in the 200cc class all the time and a lot of those guys were from my town. Had their bikes built at a place there called Pro Trykes.

Its Milan Mi, Ive also been there for a few races. In fact, this machine is not far from Milan. It would be nice if it was a 200r, even better if its a factory built machine.

Damnit, there is a very interesting picture of the back of the 200R that catfishwhisker took at the 1985 Lorreta Lyn GNC. Go to the main page, and then the back in the day section. The swingarm/axle configuration is VERY curious.

Yeah. That is definitely unique and would be a giveaway that it's one of the old factory rides. The 200R conversions just have a normal pro-link setup back there.

Dammit, not to be judgemental but I think everyone on the board thats read this has figured it was either a stock 250R with a 200cc kit from Selvy or a full on Works MX trike that has some extensive mods to it.
Good luck on it X.system.

I am basically going to asume its a 200x until I see it for myself, don't want to get my hopes up for a big let down.
About 4 months before I joined this site I ran across another 200R about 15 minutes from my house, but didn't know they even exsisted. I was picking up my uncles harley for him from a guy that builds harley pulling trikes. Easy Rider is his sponcer and if you have watched any of two wheeled tuesday you may have seen him and his wife pulling against each other. Anyway, when I was picking up the harley I asked if he had any old three wheelers sitting around, he uses front ends from trikes for his creations. He said he had just sold a 200r not more than a week ago, at the time. At the time I thought it was just a 200x and dismissed it but now I think I may have to investigate that bike as well.
