I bought 2 110's for $60.(81,82) The 81 had brand new axle and hubs so i swapped all the good stuff to the 82 because it was in better shape.
I did the same thing. Took every single part apart and repainted and cleaned it up. I spent $800 (i think). Had to buy a brand new aftermarket seat because my original was shot. New headlight. New filter, exhaust. Carb kit. Fresh bored cylinder, new piston(rings too), took head apart and cleaned it up. It takes time and work.
Only problem i ran into was that the subtransmission gears are not interchangeable. (found out after it was completely together, grinded under a load) so I had to try to remember which gears were the correct ones.
Just ordered a top end gasket kit because it is leaking oil around one of the studs. Just need to wait till spring or summer.

i think it would be awesome to make a 350x look alike out of one of those...with wheel spacers and some 16 inch holeshots or something...my bro has one and i wanted to do that to it but he got all new red fenders and tank with a black seat cover with 22 inch blackwaters...that thing is a beast in mud...we set up a snorkel on it and he floated across a pond on it
