I'm doing new plastics (black rear fenders, radiator shrouds, and front fender with a red seatcover, tank and a red frame) that should look sweet, but was trying to think of what to do with the headlight. This thing is friggin sweet. It's 55w just like the stocker. The only bummer is they don't make a wide one for trikes, so I have to position it between the forks. Oh well, it should still look cool. It's called the cyclops. The one light is both high and low beam and the little light on the side is a 5w incandecent. Can anyone say Terminator eye! This should look mean!

Yeah I like those, alot of the street Supermoto guys use them on their bikes. The look awsome and I hear they work well too. It would look awsome on an R for sure.

Similar piece on a Tecate

it looks like somone knocked the otherside out, or somone that has a black eye.. might work great, but whoever designed that thing needs to be shot.

I understand the thing better after seeing the Tecate picture, I thought the number plate was a windsheild! lol. I still don't like it.

The tecate looks sweet, the black headlight thing looks like poo on a stick.....without the stick....

Dammit!

Might have potential if you cut the number plate off. Just seems like it would be way, way too small.

It is a little thin. It will set similar to BigGreen's, but show a little more fork on the sides. Just for info, the "black eye" glows like the freakin' terminators eye at night. That rocks. We'll see if the numberplate survives. Acerbis makes another headlight that is cool, but I like the "one eye" better.

Here's the spec's on the cyclops:

The first approved headlight for all on and off-road bikes.
Exclusive customized design: nylon surround, polypropylene number plate, polycarbonate reflector, cast aluminum headlight body and tempered glass lens.
TUV certified, DOT, ECE and SAE approved.
Adjustable lens angle
55 Watt high beam Halogen bulb.
55 Watt low beam Halogen bulb and 5 Watt incandescent side light.

Here's the spec's on the second:

The lenses are polycarbonate the number plate of the headlight is made out of a polypropylene plastic.
Each bulb is 20 watts for a total of 60 watts.
2-36 degree flood beams
1-10 degree pencil beam

I like the different look. BigGreen, which model is that light in case the cyclops doesn't work?

I ended up going with this one. My local parts guy said the cyclops would be to tall for the ATC. Bummer for me, but it sounds like a bunch of you will be happy. Here is the new assembly, pretty much the same as Big green's. Check it out.

It's made by Acerbis. The model is the DHH, and it ran about $80.00. Here is the rundown from Acerbis:

DHH HEADLIGHT
Our world-famous DHH headlight is a favorite with enduro riders for its unique design and unparalleled quality and performance.

• The original dual halogen design
• Dual 12V 35W tungsten halogen bulbs
• Will fit virtually any motorcycle

Badpig, do you have picts of your trike with the black plastics? Or is not installed yet? I have the black as well, and frankly I love it. Just installed most of it yesterday. My seat is red as well, but it is a different tone color then the tank so I think I will change that out. I would love to see a pict with the front setup you will be installing.

I'll post a pic as soon as I can. My digital took a dump, so I have to wait for my friend to email the pic's to me. It sucks. I'm considering getting a black tank since I have the same problem with the seat cover matching the tank. I used a CEET cover for an 86 TRX. I must admit, I love the color scheme.

Don't use the cyclops! That thing is weak! It looks like a combination Radio Shack flashlight/ping-pong paddle. The DHH setup is by far the lesser of two evils, but seeing it installed on Big Green's Tecate, I just don't know. His bike looks too "happy". :D Tecates and an R's should look mean.

Hey, its not my Tecate that its installed on, I have an 85 T3 thats way to wide for that ot mount right. I'd love to have the DHH setup on mine, I've even contemplated bolting an 86 front on mine just to be able to use that light...trike obsesed.

My DHH came in today. I'll install it tomorrow if all goes well. I'll post some pics then.
