Pardon the venting session here, but I gotta share this. I have owned this particular trike for a year and a half:

I just realized in a recent cleaning and repairing my honda trike, that it is NOT an 83 185 as I thought, but an '84 200S. I aquired this bike and was told by the previous owner and even the Honda dealer that it was a 185. Am I correct in the numbers on the 200 S motor starting with TB05E.......? That is what is on my motor. The numbers on the motor were obscured from grime and dirt, but not anymore! Did the 185 have front suspension? Mine does, but what got me wondering was that someone told me that the 185s were not suspended. I checked into it, and whaddya know? I feel kinda dumb. Anyone else ever done this, or will you admit it if you did?

Only the 83 185S was supsended in the front.

Ok- thank you- I thought so. I did not think I was totally ****ing crazy. And as indicated before I changed my signature, I thought it was an 83 185s, which would make sense that it had a suspension fork. But the numbers on the motor, from what I can tell, makes it a 200s. Anyone have a confirmation on the # theory?

Get a frame vin number.... you can use that to determine the model and year.

If it says 192cm3 on the back side of the cylinder on the base than you can be sure it's a 200, also if you look on the frame by the fork stem thingy there should be a sticker saying atc_ _ _ _ 198_ _ model. Or at least all my trikes and all my friend's honda dirtbikes have that.

Yup- it's a 200s for sure. Thanks for all the replys :beer , and I can't believe I am just realizing this. Guess I spend more time riding it than looking at it.

Put your stamped on vin# from off of the stearing head on this thread and I can tell you what year it is. Well, what year the frame is anyway, you may have had a motor swap.

yah there is no basically no differecne between the two u can actually take the 200s cyclinder and head and put it on the 185s i have been told, the bottom ends are the same they just hacked the 185s cause they were so much the same and no ones going to buy a 6cc small bike when its the same money
