What the hell are you on about? Did you even look at the auction?
The bike looks to be in decent shape to me and those old suzukis are awesome, even though they are suspensionless.

Easy children.....
I might be stretching it here, but I think the 'jk" in RideRed250r's message means "just kidding". A little touchy, aren't we?
Nevertheless, A fun little bike, and fairly rare. If I don't have one in MY garage, it's rare (to me)!

What do you base your "knowledge" on? Mine has been super reliable, and I have no problem finding parts, as most are still available as OEM from Suzuki, at typical OEM prices. How many of these have you had, and what parts have you tried to buy that you couldnt get?

Prejudice means the act of pre-judging, which means to form an opinion on something before you've actually aquired any facts. In other words, to give an opinion on something you dont have any personal knowledge of. Matt seems to have a grasp of the definition. You admit you have no personal knowledge and are only repeating what you have been told.
How do you get charged $50 for a striped shift shaft? I'll assume you mean stripped, and Ill guess that you mean he got charged $50.00 for a good one, to replace the stripped one. If they charged him $50.00 for it, my guess would also be that were actually able to get one, so basically, you are saying that Suzukis are all junk, parts are overpriced, and most are not available because your friend paid $50.00 for a shift shaft?
The ALT50 is in fact a very rare trike, and the parts are not interchangeable with other models, unlike the 125 and 185. I dont know how many shift shafts from other models that you priced and compared, but you may find that $50.00 isnt a bad price. I do agree with you, though, that if your friend paid $50.00 for a shift shaft for an ALT50 that he got ripped off, because the ALT50 is a single speed, centrifugal clutch driven motor and DOES NOT HAVE A SHIFT SHAFT. The Suzuki product line is less defective than the "information" you are posting.

I have owned a few Suzuki's over the years myself. The one was a ALT125 with over 5400 miles on the tripometer. The only thing the kid done to it was change the oil, tires, brake shoes, chain and sprockets. He sold it to me because he bought a 250r and a Warrior. If that isn't dependable I don't know what is. The key to ANY machine being dependable is proper care / maintance.
If you abuse any machine it will cost you in the long run.
now that my freinds is what the call a BURN
And it was done with accuracy.

Mine has over 3500 miles on the odometer, and has seen nothing but a hard beating for as long as I have owned it.

I'll take "Heated Discussions" for $500 please, Alex!
Wow. I think that the sheer wit in some of the above responses, not to mention correct spelling and a respect for the English language, combined with general unbiased knowledge of the topic is what makes an Administrator and/or Moderator's argument valid. :w00t:
As I initially indicated in my first post on this thread, a kneejerk reaction makes from some folks makes some folks look like......well, a jerk. Pick your battles, especially if you you have limited ammunition.

I would like to ride a Suzuki 125 trike. I have had 2 Suzuki 125 quads in my life and honestly they handled like crap and had a very bad turning radius, but I wouldn't mind adding a Suzuki 125 to my collection just for the fun of it.

well then atcmatt fell in the hole also buy callin me a prejudice person if he doesnt even know me, if they are so reliable y dont u see many of them around? i applogize for being incorrect in my information but there has to do with something with the bike being put in gear that cost him 50 bucks. also if u can only voice trailprotrailpro opion by calling the other a idiot or many other names then i think thats sad, and Tim SR i do not now much about suzukis ALT line, i only know one person with one which is the 50 and he has had lots of problems keepin it runnin and in tune, I was basing my opion on the LT250R and Lt500R that from wat i have been told are costly to repair and hard to keep runnin in good condition.
i apologize for lack of firm information in my previous posts
