For the last???

2 weeks my trike has been running awesome, I forget its 20 years old sometimes, but today, OMFG!! will not run, start, sputter, poop.

My arm is killing me:(

But I know that in a few hours she'll be ok.

Only problem with old Hondas, is that damn things have minds of thier own.

Check the spark. I have an 82 ATC200 that likes too loose spark then just have spark out of no where. If that's the problem it is probably just a corroded connection or the stator may need cleaned up, I've had the problem a few times.

Shes a real B^#%$ when she wants too be, usually a pop start fixes it, the last time what finally made her run was me tied too the bump of my friends truck and going up and down the road a few times in 5th gear.

What we need is some sort of ab-tronic deal to work the ol' chest from the pull starter. I've got fine arms from the old pull start, and the kickstarter on a cold 350x really carves the legs, but the abs are left at the mercy of Christmas dinner. I could see the info-mercials: Dr Ho's ATC adapter, now fits: oddessy, atc 200, 185s, and 110!

We use a 110v electric motor to start most hard to start machines ( that have a pull starter ). We developed the set up years ago, and have never looked back. It is sweet!!! I will get pictures of it, or at least a drawing. If you do a lot of repairs it is a very handy. ;)

My first ATC was an 82 185s. We used to take off the pull starter when it was cold out and use a drill on the flywheel nut. It always got the bike started.

As promiced here are some pictures of the Howdystarter. The motor is a 1/3 or 1/3 hp and rated at 1000 rpms. The motor is reversable ( can run either way ) with just 2 wire changes. This works wonders for me. I used it tonight to start both atc70's for the kids. Worked like a charm.

I can pull my 110 all day and not get tired.
Kickin the 350 is a different story though.

ok 1 ?...how is that pulley attached to the flywheel? it looks like u drilled through the case and connected it to it...or is that even a pully..is it just the flywheel fan thingy?

That is one awesome contraption howdy! I have an air compressor with an exposed motor and belt, All I have to do is push the trike up, then I'm off!

That is the pullstarter cage. The only thing I do is remove the pull starter and put the belt on. It takes a total of maybe 3 minutes to have the motor spinning.

We can't do without this contraption. It saves A LOT of work!!
