Loosen the two allen keys at the back of the swingarm, then take a pry bar or large screwdriver, stick that into one of the adjuster grooves to the INSIDE of the rear sprocket (towards the swingarm) and push down until desired tension is achieved. Tighten allen keys. Done.

How much will this let me adjust it? because it has allot of play like 3-4 inches on both top and bottom

get a case saver, it should be the first thing you get.

There's a pretty good range of adjustment. Just try it. It only takes a minute.
Case savers are a good idea too.

I don't think you can blame the chain on that one. OUCH!

Chain guides work great, as you rarely hear of a Yamaha throwing a chain. I dont know why Honda didnt use them, but they should have. They are not a subsitute for a good fitting, properly aligned and adjusted chain though.

They have aftermarket ones, but the problem is to put one on right requires welding mounts to the swingarm, which is why you dont see them very often.

Chain guides are still available. I had all mine replaced when I redid my swingarm. Plus I put Yamaha's idea on mine as well. One is a side view of it, the other, is the unfinshed swingarm but a good pict of the added guide. I had mine extended so I felt this was a great addition. The front of the swingarm you should be able to get the guides.

can some one tell me whys these are differnt and where they go? thanks
Dammit!

The first one is just a stock replacement that goes over the swingarm (towards the front of it). The other... hell if I know. First time I've seen one like that. I was thinking it replaces the stock roller that's attached to the frame above and behind where the first one goes but I'm not sure.
