im sending the frame to the powdercoater (Black with a 50% gloss). Then im sending the bars to get chromed. Im getting all new white maier fenders for christmas including tanks scoops ( white too), new spyder grips, and a renthal bar pad. As soon as I sell my 200s's i will buy a smooth buff front tire and for the rear it is going to be 22x11x8 8 paddle extreme haulers. Then im done and off to florence!!!
Forgot to mention that the seat cover is going to be hand covered by my aunt. The color is going to be black!

Jenn I was working in Momouth all summer, drove by there everyday, I also worked on that North Mall building down by the capitol building. So Salem was like my second home for the last couple of years.lol $240.00 Yikes, yeah you could of talked him down to $150.00 just takes a while.lol I've sent him some busseness though. I tried a powdercoater in Hubard one time, that guy is good, If I was going to do a show bike it would go to him.

There was a shop in Aumsville?????? Well crud that used to be 5 min away. Didnt know about that one. Look forward to meeting you on the dunes! And good luck with your project. Thats weird you all got such high prices, he quoted me cheap right up front. I wonder if we are talkin same guy, metal pole building, Chroming place right in front? Right around corner as your leaving Salem? Had a gorgeous multi color banshee frame on the shelve.

Everything came apart pretty easily but i did break 2 bolts that i will need to replace. The first one was the top by the motor mounts that holds the skid plate on. It broke inside the frame! opps! The other one i got out. I have a couple of questions to ask. Where and how much are motor bushings! I also need everything inside the neck of the frame ( bearings etc). One more question. Before it was taken apart the lights wouldnt come on with the engine running. I tested everything and there was no electricity coming out of the voltage regulator. Is there supposed to be elctricity coming out of it??

Motor bushings??? Are you talking about the spacers for the motor mounts on the long bolt? Or the rubbers on the skidplate?
Dads over at org can help you with bearings, he has a sticky in the classifieds, might as well convert to the taper neck bearings.
Yes there should be power coming out of the regulator, but if the regulator is bad it would blow your bulbs. I'm kinda talking out my rear when it comes to electrical, could be the switch, bad wire in the harness. or just bad bulbs.
If you don't want to buy online, Rob at Cycle Country in Salem is pretty helpful. He used to be a 350x rider until the 450r came out. lol

I started stripping down a 350x I bought yesterday, I got down to the axle(can't get the lock nut off), head pipe(typical rust jammed), and the front axle is rusted in. all those I need more mapp gas for, I'll have some before and after pics soon.
BigTBones
02-20-2005, 01:22 AM
Actually Kintore its totally the opposite. Its going to have a white rear fender, a white front fender, a white clarke tank, white super tank scoops, and a black seat. Oh and what color do u think would look good as the headlight assembly?? I was thinking either black or white??

Ya, I have been told that the head pipe is a bassani or a dg?? Im not sure exactly what it is. All i know is that it isnt stock because on the stock header the heat shield mounting is set up different than this header! Can anyone tell me what it is?

Great restore job! Good work!
I'm a white freak myself and think you should keep the flow going and stick with a white headlight.
Another suggestion would be to PC or just paint the lower fork legs white & inbetween the the triples white. That would really look great (in my eyes anyway) and make the front end look quite different then anything else.
Agreed or not your project looks great!

Yours looks great too and have a ?. The rear plastic looks like there is no indentation in the mold for the kick start to go in proper. Is that correct or is that an illusion?

Man that looks pretty sharp. I think when my 85 R is done I will do a 350x or a 200x. You could probably get some more trikes if you clean that garage out.HOLY COW!!!!

Looks great! I am doing ours as well. I went with Baron red from the powder. Mine is just now starting to go together. I bought alot of replacement stuff and Blazer has my exhaust. I very anxious to see how that turned out. If you like I can get pict of where it is at now. Good luck with yours. This is fun, but polishing kinda sucks.
