84 Big Red No Fire

I bought a go-kart that has a 1984 Big Red engine and rear end on it. It's not getting any fire. I looked at a wiring diagram and all the wiring seems OK. Can anyone tell me how to check the electronics? Regulator, solenoid, inhibiter relay pickup coil, capacitor discharge ignition unit. Or would it be just as easy to pull out everything except what's absolutely necessary. Any help is greatly appreciated.

no spark would be one of these things.. 1. bad stator, 2. bad coil, 3, bad cdi i dont know the engine, and this is just a general answer.. but it could also be bad wiring.. take a look at that stuff.. im not sure how to test the stator but im sure somone here can tell ya.
