Im getting a 185S for 175 bucks within the next few weeks and i was wondering how fast it would go, i had a 200S before but the rings went on it, im thinking of using the forks from the 200s on the 185 and maybe rebuilding the 200 engine, do you think it would fit in the 185 chassis? would new sprockets make it fast enough to keep with my friends blaster???? if i got new sprockets what would add top end and would it make a noticable difference in speed??? does anyone know where i might be able to find aftermarket parts for this trike????? thanks for any information :Bounce

Assuming that the 185 has its factory front suspension fork (that works), why the desire to change?

My bone stock 185 runs 49 mph. No kidding (that's on a GPS). :w00t:
A rear sprocket change for top end would make your accelleration suffer. If you do make a sprocket change, so only slightly smaller.
I've never looked at a motor swap like that, I'd have to eyeball it.

Good luck

The motors are the same, they will swap directly. (I know the cc's are different but that's it) My 1982 ATC200 broke 50 mph, clocked with a YFM350.

eberything from a 185s will fit a 200s and the other way around..its all the same except the bore of the engine and the carb tuning..so yes the forks wit fit the chassis and so will the engine if your puttin it on..also the 185s does almost 50 stock

it has solid front forks, i was thinking a 38 tooth rear and a larger front sprocket would work, my 200 would run over 50 too but i want it to have decent torque and nice top end, would a k&n filter help the overall power or would it be a waste of money?

I don't have any experience with this but I would say open up the air box and get a bigger carb and exhaust.

Well, not to be rude, but all of this is covered in the site's archieves. Just a friendly reminder to do a search. If you still have questions, there is a lot of this information posted there.

Good luck,

the 185s and 200s are the same bike, only diffrence is 12 ccs bigger bore, everything interchanges :p if your looking for something to keep up with the blaster , get a 200x or 250r or something along those lines, becuse you cant squeze much more out of the honda 200s. my friend just put a 12:1 wiseco piston in his 200m and boy the things got torque, but you have to run race gas in it too...and the piston is 170$cnd....but i guess if you wana do up a 200 thats fine :p its just not gona be a fire breathing beast

I run stock sprockets on mine, and i usually run 20in tires for low end power, but i used to run 22in tires which gave me a little bit more top end speed. It depends on what you want though.

It's good you follow up on older threads, but that is almost a 5 year old thread. But at least you have been doing some reading and searching. Extra credit points for you efforts.

Somewhere on this site I read the stock 185s on flat track does 55mph... Can't verify that as my 185s needs some tlc before I can make a educated statement regarding top end.... GL on your project, "everything" seems to be a project... lol
