Ok I got a 1982 250r for 350 a couple weeks ago. I was looking around and I noticed that the 83 is so much better looks and performance wise. I started calling around and a guy said he was getting in a 1983 250r(complete) but with no engine. So I want to trade my old 200s that the engine is messed and get a 83.
My question is will the motor mounts from a 82 250r work in a 83?
and any advice on my situation?

No, sprocket is on the wrong side, I think.

You can put any 81-84 250r motor into any 81-84 trike, the same motor was used just different colors.

the razor got it right, the 81-84 250r motor is physically the same size. The only differences are in the porting, Honda's factory porting got better each year.

another question, just called a local junkyard(just thought about it) and he says he thinks he has a 85 250r. With no seat or tank though, and I have no idea about the engine or rad. The plastics are there, anywas can I use a crank and connecting rod from a older R(82) to fix it?

well the waterpumper u can get away with using trx parts were the 81-84 is like they say same engine just to put it in the 83 frame u must use a 83 84 shifter.

Fix up your 82 :wondering Their not a bad trike. Save up and buy a 85-86 when you run accross one.
