Well, got everything together and filled it up tonight. First kick and the thing ran for like 30 seconds. Twisted the throttle few times (boy it sounds good) then it started to bog when I twisted it until it died. Took off the filter and tried starting it but no go. Had it running for a few 5 second runs by priming the cylinder with mixed gas. Any ideas why it wont run?

Thanks.

You might have a vapor lock. Check the tube on the gas cap and the fuel line for any kinks.

It sounds like it fouled the plug. Put a fresh one in and try it again.

First of all, disconnect the fuel line at the carb and turn your petcock on and make sure you have flow. Did you take your carb off after it stalled? If you did, was there gas in the bowl? If you didn't take it off, take it off ans see if there is gas in the bowl. If it starts when you prime it, it has to be a fuel supply problem, not spark.

It is possible that your flywheel key snapped and partially advanced the rotor or maybe your stator plate screws are lose and the plate advanced affecting your timing.Another shot in the dark, check the 2 bolts that fasten your ignition coil to the frame , if one is loose it may periodically close the circuit resulting in loss of proper ignition.Just a few guesses.

I like the fuel guy. Pull line off carb. Bad vaulve will fill yhe carb after a few minutes butt will not ceep up.Your carb could be perfect and one peice of sand or inside of fuel hose will hose you. i would stick with fuel.If you think its elect. hold the plug and kick it. haha... good luck ive been there.

Now getting no fuel and my flywheel is not lining up with the V on the case. Also the thing kicked back HARD, brused the bottom of my foot really bad. So this must mean its way off timing.

My kxt runs good and hard, but it kicks back like a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. I thought I broke my leg once. now I just roll start it down a hill. I wonder if I have a timeing issue.

The flywheel is not supposed to line up with the mark on the case, its the stator plate that you use to set the timing.

A defective spark plug will do this . May only work cold ? Fuel check for filters or straner inside tank ,peice of rubber in fuel vaulve, shaved off and blocking hole . The plug thing drove me crazy on a 250r a couple weeks ago . Same symptoms as you. Changed every part on elec. system rebuilt carb 20 times . Final fix a second new plug. Good luck. Were 1 boot.

lol yeah the funny thing is i hurt one foot like it to the point of calling in sick for work(spend all day stocking shelves at a grocery store) and the next night i used my opposite foot to kick, same thing happened. err! anyway im gonna order a spare flywheel key, some new plugs and wear my mx boots when I kick it over this time.
