Working on my 250r the other day and was looking at it, the new model change of 83 looks so much better. Is there anyway I could stick a 83 tank on my 82? and the fenders too, a 83 fender for a 82?
Is there any other modifications I could make to it so it looks like a 83?

and will a 200s metal gas tank fit on the R?

the motors are basically the same, frame and suspension, plastics etc are different. as far as motor parts, they are the same 81-84. hope this helps. I would call yours an 82 for all intents and purposes.

will the motor mounts for a 82 for the engine be the same for a 83/84?

motor mounts are the same, the frames are not the same, the suspension is different (front and rear), and the gas tank will not change over, if you want a 83, buy a cheap rolling chassis and put your motor in it.

I found a guy that has a complete 83/84 chassis with everything, gastank, fenders(not the greastest shape) and seat and maybe tires in a junkyard, going to call him tomorrow to see how much, might trade my 82 frame that has a wrong 85 seat and gastank, and my 200s with racks, awesome mudder tires, seat and mint gastank, and I also have a old 1980 cr 250r that I bought for the motor but it came with sweet tires, and frame and awesome suspension. One of the three to trade or maybe two, what would be a fair price for that 83/84 r that he might sell me?
