One thing that I would love to know, where is the motor at?? Every time you have a great find (or me anyway) there is always a catch, for me its always the engine. I would still like to have it though.

Jmsmilin yes the Cagiva was a 2-stroke and they are Either Italian or Austian (some Europeon country) made

Its just a cagiva 250 dirtbike motor thats been sleeved down, atleast thats what i've heard. The rear fenders are low profile tecate fenders. And the front is a 85-86 250r. Then the rest of the stuff i guess was custom made. These are all things that i have heard of, not positive tho.

Ummmmm... take a look at those pics in the auction.... those aren't 85-86 250R front forks.... I'm sure HONDA wouldn't allow another company to use their parts!

Yup the front fender is indeed 85/86 ATC 250R from what Andy Lillard told me in email.

It's not too far from me. a couple hour drive. I made an offer on it a few days ago. boy was my offer low! Sure don't blame him for listing it. And just think, he probably gave $75 or $100 for both those Cagivas he had.

Here's the pic he sent me. Look at the trike in the background. He said it was the other Cagiva he already parted out. It looks to have a white 86 KXT front fender.

As said before, those fenders were aftermarket Maier replicas. Not factory parts.

not sure what the offers to this guy was.. but my opinion as it sits, i would thk it worth around $500-700 to the seller.. or that is what i would pay for it.. still needs a mill and someother parts to finish.. so if you have another $700 into it,.. $1500 is fair i thk!!

It's only worth what someone will pay for it! eBay is the way I would have sold it too. The hassle of finding an engine for it wasn't worth that to me.

He could have taken those two trikes and made a pretty decent looking one out of the two. The other one had white Tecate fenders, 86 on front and of course the 84/85 low-profile on the back. Plus a white screen plate. I think the orange and white would have looked pretty good.

The front forks are the stock Cagiva Bike Forks. In my opinion they need to be lowered.

Technically I bet there's not a Factory Honda part on it. The front fender was a Maier Honda 85/86 250R replica fender.

Jeb, that dirtbike looks very close to the 3 wheeled form, am I right when I say the production Caviga trike is a dirtbike conversion? From the looks of things if you could find a Caviga 250 MX bike in good shape you would have most of the hard to find parts. The fenders won't even be that hard, low profile Tecate and a 250R fender painted orange, the rad shroud may be difficult to get though. I really love the look that the Caviga has, its such a stuning bike to look at.

Yes the Cagiva trike is a converted Dirtbike done by Jerry Lillards shop Tricky Dicks. Right before the consent decree was signed Cagiva had intended to give Jerry and his shop the rights to build "Official" Cagiva trikes.

Its an ORANGE replica of a 250R fender.

Billy thats what I thought. The Caviga was sleeved down so it must have had a custom pipe to make the best of the sleeved motor. Would that mean the 200 pipe would rob the 250 motor of performance? I mean whats the likelyhood of somebody still making a 200cc sleeve for the Caviga or a piston so the 250 cc motor is what they are going to have use.

that would be a awesome trike to have!check out the huge rear shock...

i have 2 of these trikes, they are not sleeved down 250's.they are only a 190cc machine straight from cagiva.they just called it a 250 for the 250 class in motocross.yes the radiator shrouds are very hard to find and discontinued, as is everything else on this bike.unless you know where a bike is or know where any parts are, your gonna have one hell of a time finishing it.ive been looking for a year now and i have only come across one bike.

It wouldn't be a bad idea for someone to buy it and put a 250r motor in it. If that's posible.

3tigers is right. Cagiva ran a 190 cc motor in their 250 MX bike. The motor was not sleeved down. I would also assume that the pipe is straight off of the dirtbike as well. Especially with that heat shield.

Curtis.

Curtis and 3tigers thanks for correcting me, I didn't know they came straight from the factory that cc. That goes to show that they are a bad butt motor to be competing in the 250 class as a 200cc dirtbike. 38hp stock is very cool. Good luck with your project 3tigers, hope you find the parts you need.

If you read the auction closer we will ship the bike in pieces, but this will take a few boxes. I think after the tear down fee and the shipping charges it should come out to be about the same as shipping it together. Good Luck!!
