I went and looked at what I was told was an 85 200X. I have 3 84 200X machines in my garage and they are very different. First the exhaust comes out of the left side of the head not straight out the front like the 83-85's. Second, the carb was in a different position, closer to the left side of the trike unlike the older models. Third, it had a decompression cable. I know mine don't have a decompression cable. Fourth, and the most tell tale is that it has a 6-speed trans. I am thinking that this is an 86 or 87 model. Can anyone confirm this for me. He wants $350 for it, however it is a little rough but runs pretty good.
Thanks,

The 6 speed tells it all, that is a 86/87 200x. The are significantly upgraded from the earlier 200x's, but parts availability is not good. For $350 for a running trike, it is a good deal, just check that the parts you need to fix it up are available.

Jenndnn3 has a 86, and can tell you her experence with parts availability.

Yes 350 good price...parts are still pretty much available from honda so you pay honda prices. The aftermarket is not strong at all. And Ebay is very thin. So basically it is more expensive to fix or restore this trike.

6 Speed Transmission = 86/87 200X. Unless he put an XR Transmission in....well then... ;)

Parts are abundant for the 6/7's are they are for the 350X's. Nothins too hard to find.

im parting my 87 on eBay out if you need any parts...Im jsut waiting to pay my bill......EBay screwed up somehow.
