Winch for a Big Red?

I have a big red 250es and I want to install a winch on the front rack. What is the best one to get that would mount on the front rack? Has anyone put one on a big red before? I heard that you have to get the mounting bracket for it somewhere?? thanks

I thought about putting a winch on my 83 big red but never got around to doin it. I figured to get a 1/4'' thick steel plate and mounting it to the rack then buying any winch and mounting the winch to the steel plate.

I know this doesn't answer your question,but an alternative idea is the black max ratchet winch.You can use it on either front or rear racks and you don't have to mount it,meaning you can put it on another wheeler easily.

you could get a regular atv winch and custom make a bracket. It should be pretty easy. Just find a strong point to mount it on.

I've seen other big reds, with winches what did these people do? also you may want to build a bracket of some kind to raise the headlight above the winch.
