Guys what do you think of this idea?

Just noticed I can get 2-stroke silencers for not much. Anyone have some input?

I've seen an FMF twostroke silencer on a 200X, they say it was super loud. Most aftermarket silencers are straight through with no baffle unless they are spark arrested so it would essentially be a straightpipe but a little quieter.

What trike are you talking about putting it on?

BigGreen, that's what I was thinking. I'm glad you backed it up. You claim they are pretty much a straight through design. That's what I was looking to hear. :)

What kind of bike? ACT200S
It's my new project. Plans are for a more aggresive than the stock 200s cam and a 10.25/1 piston with a ported head.

My next hassle will just be to see what size will fit in my frame as the 200s runs the exhaust through the frame being there is not enough room below the fender.

If it is a straight through muffler, then perhaps something off of, say, a 80cc bike would still work as it would have a smaller diameter pipe in it. It might quiet it down more than a 300cc silencer.

I know this will never be a *fast* bike. If it's loud, that's okay. I'm not too picky. I've heard of people claiming gains when the stock pipe rusts/falls off.

Anyone else have any input/opinions?

Usualy they are a little small on pipe diameter. You could get plenty of flow with a stocker from a lot of these newer machines like the 450's and they are cheap.
