I have an 86 200x and got some problems. When the choke is open and i give her a kick it feels like there is no compression and wont start, when the choke is closed it will start right up with a little push on the throtle. It does'nt idle when its closed. but when you open it up after its started it idles fine. then if you rev it up it sounds like it wants to die until you let off the gas and it doesnt do that when the choke is closed. well i thought it was a dirty filter, so i took the air box off and it helped a little but the same problems are still there. I have no mod's on it and it never did this before. and all hapend after i was going to clean the carb but dident get to it so i just took it off then put it back on. changed the gas and oil couse i thought mabe there was water in the gas. is the jetting mest up or what?

doubtful its a jetting issue, but what i would say is that you have an air leak someplace on the insulator or on the carb to the insulator.. i had the same problem with mine, but i had a plugged jet, now its fine.. make sure there is no air leaks, make sure the gaskets are set on there right, and also, if you wanted to clean your carb, and you had a dirty filter, its probably time to clean the carb also.

that would be overheating, which a lean condition could very well cause, and if you have an air leak, that would cause that.. more air + less fuel = lean/overheating condition... find that air leak, or jet up.
