Lets just dream for a moment. If you had the money of Donald Trump and had in your backyard about a 10,000+ sq foot size warehouse, how extreme would you get with 3 wheelers?

Everytime I saw a remotely decent priced ATC in the paper or ebay I would buy it thus making the largest collection of ATC's and parts in the world. Maybe even open a dealer. Need good insurance though.

Then I would make it a life goal and buy one of each year make and model of every 3 wheeler ever produced and put together the largest most mint collection ever and have shelves of back up parts.

Its a good thing Trump is not a 3 wheeler addict or there would be no parts out there for all of us cause he would have them all.

i would start my own 3 wheeler company and turn all the new quads into trikes.i know it would be loss in selli ng them but with that much money you could give them away

I'd put a $50000 reward in the national papers to anyone who would sell me an 87 350x or 250r. Also build up several different kinds of trikes, and buy everything trike related i saw.

Couldn't you actually start building new 3-wheelers? I'm pretty sure after 1997 they are legal to build again. That'd be cool to see some new ATC70's, they shouldn't be too dangerous.

If I had trump money, I'd go on a mission to find the entire honda line in mint condition. I'd also want every tecate and tri-Z model in mint condition. Okay, that takes care of all the one's that will be under the glass floor that is also a dust free environment and of course climate controled. From there I would need some serious play trikes. This is list is too long to mention so some high lights would be a 250R with the powervalve convertion and a 500R. I'd build a custom YFZ trike and a 450R trike. I always wanted a mini 125 2-stroke trike too. Like a modern cr125 powerplant in a custom trike chassis. All the play trikes would have inverted forks and fully adjustable rear shocks. The list of mods would be endless. Basicaly I'd be putting some of the old trike builders back to work on some pretty cool stuff. I might even make a limited run of some racing type trikes. Yeah, definatly some 125's, 250's and some 500's, all 2-strokes. I guess if I went that far I'd have to produce some yfz trikes and some 450r's too for the public.

Edit: how about BIll Gates money instead? :)

I'd hire a team of lobbyists and lawyers to work on getting that idiotic law overturned AND some form of protection for manufacturers so they might actually start making them again. Call it the "idiots that hurt themselves on three-wheelers because they didn't wear a helmet, rode drunk, rode double, bought their kid a bike that's way too freakin' big or simply can't ride deserves what they get and it's not the damn trikes fault and as a tax paying American I'd like the right to risk my neck in whatever way I see fit thanks" act. Then I'd see about this ban of 2-strokes nonsense.

In place of the ban I'd see about getting some legislation requiring training/licensing for all off road vehicles to further help prevent manufacturers from being held liable for the deaths of the retarded (I'd deal with that headache if it meant brand new three wheelers again). I also wouldn't mind requiring all atv's (quads and trikes) to have front and rear suspension.

Then I wouldn't have to horde a bunch of 20 year old trikes. I could just get new ones! :w00t:

After I was done with all that I'd buy up a bunch of land to ride on. And some heavy equipment to make some nice tracks. Then'd invite all of you over for biggest damn trike party in history. :beer

I would build a custom racing 3 wheeler track, with everything. Honda and all atc's are in mint condition like Oldschoolin said in glass shrines and then the beaters. Have like 50 1987 or 1986 250r's and like 30 1986 200x's and 30 1986 350x's all for me and my friends, then even more for you guys which could choose what you want to ride. And then after all that fun, have ATC 70's races, but you cant forget these little machines are sweet, with pipes and everything. And then have free Pizza and Beer afterwards lol

I like this thread! I think I would hire all the old Honda Engineers that designed the 250R and have them build me a modern version with an aluminum frame,350cc 2 stroke, and 13" minimum suspension travel. Oh....and electric start and reverse!!!

I'd have electric powered ones for the house.. cuz i'd have a big trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro house !

and the entire 86 lineup with every tool part possible, and a full time mechanic would have his house build into the garage !

I'd build the KX450F powered 85 Tecate that I want, a KX500 powered 86 Tecate with a highly modded motor and extended swinger for the dunes, a nice trail 350X, racing 200X with kart tires, an oldschool YT175 with suspension and a built to the hilt motor, and of course there would be the one of a kind bikes that I would want. Like a YFZ motor wrapped in a Tri-Z style frame, inverted forks, etc...After I satisfied my trike craze I'd buy land and heavy equiptment to make a nice TT course, MX track and an heated indoor Supercross track so I could ride all year long with the huge garage built right next door. Of course I'd have a Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki built specially for each style track and for each class (125 twostroke, 200 foursroke, 250 twostroke, 450 fourstroke). Then I would built the mini trikes like the KXT60 that Howdy?Trikeaholic? has and a nice mini MX track built just to fool around on with the mini's.

I could keep going but its making me depressed that I dont have money to spend like that.

I think it is obvious that we all would buy up all the clean 86 and 87 we could find and all the nice parts we could find and that we would either build or have someone build us custom trikes.

I am shocked though that i am the first on this, I would start hunting down all of the Cagiva and Tigers that I could and buying them. :beer

Infact, I will go ahead and take any Cagivas for sure and most Tigers right now :TrikesOwn

The manufactures can make them now, the decent decree is expired I think. The manufactures are just don't belive in the market or the risk anymore. But with Trump or Gate's money WE'D MAKE EM' BUILD THEM!

I'm stoked everyone is enjoying this thread. Looking at this from a psychological standpoint it sounds like 3 wheelers are our drug. Now the question is would you really still drool over 3 wheelers if you had en endless supply of them? Happiness is to continue to want more after you get it. Now if you get it all would you still be happy?

I think some of the desire here is that fact that were all having more fun on a budget with our $500 to $2000 machines than most quad owners have with a toy hauler full of $7000 quads. We are drawn to them for the nastalgic vintage rareness. These are machines that were made for a little over 10 years and saw their best years in the last 2 or 3 years. If they still made them today I don't think we would all be here today. Still though I ain't gonna sit here and tell you I wouldn't collect 3 wheelers till they were coming out my ears if I had tons of cash, cause I wood.

Id have me about 5 ATC450R's and Tri-Z YFZ's made and I would have a few Aluminum chassis ATC250R's made using the '89 TRX's motor with 295 and 310 kits.

I'd basically buy every trike I'd find for sale, parts too, jerseys and stuff as well. I just love trikes so much, I take them in like stray cats already. If I had that money, I'd have a 1000 square foot house with a 10 000 square foot garage. I'd also have a giant collection of guns, antique stuff, 8 track tapes and players, old cars trucks and bikes, old planes, old tools, old tractors and engines, and pretty much anything cool or classic.

actually just his casinos went under, and they didnt go under per se, he just went from owning over %50 to less that half that, and it was because they had debt that was like 100 times the value of all assests.

Would you take VISA??? I'd buy one. Good thread, I'd be a happy camper if I had no worries on how much I could dump into a trike. I'd probally drive cross country buying up trikes to restore, Might even get Mikey and Vinny from Orange County choppers to come help. :beer

I'd love to see Hondas modern version of the Big Red. I'd pay the old Honda trike engineers to design a 650-700cc liquid cooled 6 speed w/reverse Big Red that was as big as a Polaris 4X4 and had the biggest tires possible. That would be the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro right there my friend!!

I'm glad Scottzj posted that picture. I think it's of a dealer in Kearney, Nebraska? Any way, I've had the thought cross my mind that if I was rich I'd head right to that dealer and I'd drop as much money as it takes to get that sweet collection of their hands. And if I was as rich as Bill Gates I would start my own production plant for new trikes. Because, honestly, if honda wanted to make new trikes and they didn't care about losing money or about spending endless dollars defending them I don't think the government would really be able to stop them. I think what happened was that the government bluffed and honda, yamaha, etc, flinched. They could have fought it but were to afraid to lose money (which I can understand). But, back to the point of my post, if I were super rich I wouldn't care about losing money I'd just build them. That's if I was Bill Gates rich. But if I only had a couple million I'd just stick to buying trikes (nice ones mind you).

well first off i would go straight to the 3 main companys and tell them i would pay for them to make the three 250's for me. then i would go and buy the biggest peice of land i could find and buy it and then turn it into a off road park and build my own MX tracks. i would have a big arse house on this property and have a bar and burger joint for after the riding. a massive shed with a full team of mechanics on hand. i would a 350x made street legal.i would then buy everysingle three wheeler i found for sale and either restore them or ride em. and thats about it.

Here is my Dream

one 1986 350X-stock

one 1986 250R-stock

one 1986 TriZ-stock
^
|
Any condition ----

two-1986 350X - Highly modified

two-1986 250R - Highly Modified

two TriZ - Highly Modified

The stockers, keep them in a heated, closed off, high security vault so that in 15 years when I am the only one with them left I can sell them for over 20grand a peice

The modifieds, have a track behind my house, complete with grandstands and all, and have 6 classes

1) 3 wheelers 200 and lower
2) 3 wheelers 250 2 stroke
3) 3 wheelers 250 and above
4) Quads 250 and lower
5) Quads 250 and higher

and, at the end of the heats, the winner of each class will race against the quad class

So,

200X against a TRX 250X ( :naughty: )
250R trike against a 250R quad
350X trike against a 300EX or 400EX
250R against a banshee possibly

and, have someone follow me around carrying :TrikesOwn that sign

:w00t: :w00t: :w00t:
