I have in my posession a video that was originally sold in a dirtwheels ad around 1986. It was made by powroll and was titled pro riding techniques with micky dunlap. It is not for sale, that's why i havent bothered telling anyone. But i was watching it last night with some friends and i can;t hold it from you guys anymore. Also, i dont know if i can legally make copy's to sell to anyone because i don't know if it's copyrighted. If some mod's want to e-mail me, maybe i can make a copy for them to do something with. It's pretty cool, the quality isnt the greatest, but it's powrolls 200x's at there finest, at there test track. lots of corners and jumps, about a half hr long. maybe more. if there is a demand for this, maybe i'll call powroll and see about copy's, but i havent seen any other posts ever for this, so let me know what u think.

That sounds very interesting. I would call them up, and see if they still have anymore of those or not. If they dont, tell them you have one and would like to make some copies of it for other people, and you wanted to know if it was ok. More then likely, if they dont sell it anymore (And I'd be really, really, really, suprised if they did) they wont care. Its mostly ancient history to them anyways

thats how i got it in the first place!!! i called them a few years ago and said i was interested in anything they had pretaining to atc's and i mentioned the video, they had one sitting there forever and i got a few old catalogs and stickers and display items. Who knows, they night have another copy. but i might be willing to trade a copy of this for another video if anyone has any. I'll tape it to high grade vhs. i already had one offer. Any taker???

I've got a VHS to DVD copier/player combo my mom bought a few weeks ago. I'll be more then happy to make a copy of it, and try my luck on putting it on the site.

I dont have a dvd burner, but that would be the ideal ticket. I'd prefer the mods figure out who has the best set up on how to do this, and i'll ship them the original to make copies from. i barley played it myself, as when i got it from powroll it was new, and i didnt want to wear it out. So mods. it;s up to you, email me your address so we can work out the details and i'll prob get it out this week. Thanks guys!

Dammit!

I'd buy a DVD of it also. Sounds cool.

I'm sure it is copyrighted but for something like that, nobody is gonna beat down your door over it. They might even find it flattering.

I'm not a laywer and I only have a very basic understanding of copyright laws....

The way I understand it, you can make copies and give them to whomever you want. The issue comes in when you charge people for those copies and make money from it.

So if we "donated" money for the disc it would be legit?

Your correct Glenn J. You are able to make copies of material for personal records, or you can share them as long as you aren't making money off the copies/ taking money from the copyright's owner's business. If they don't sell them anymore, you can't be taking away from their business, so its alright to copy it and sell it. The price would have to be what a blank DVD disk would cost and shipping if you absolutely wanted to be legal, but im sure you won't get in any trouble if you make a couple dolars for yourself. I'm looking foreward to seeing this DVD, just hope it doesn't take to long.

If it has been copyrighted, it is illegal to distribute copies whether they are being sold or whether they are being given away, without written permission. If it is no longer being made or sold, written permission would probably be easy to obtain, but its well worth making the phone calls to protect yourself, if you are going to post to the public that you are doing it.
It is not correct that you can give away copies as long as you dont sell them. Remember Napster?
Your video may not even be copyrighted, in which case there is no copy protection laws to apply. If it is copyrighted, it will say so on the video jacket, and in the video itself, normally at the beginning or the end. Most videos usually emphasize the fact that they are copyrighted by giving you the FBI warning at the beginning.

LOL, i might have to get a dvd burner/vcr combo for this. Money is tight right now, with the holidays and all, plus service honda just got a bunch of cash from me for all new plastic for my 85" 250r. But i don't wanna leave u guys hangin. I don;t think it's copyrighted. I dont remem seeing anything in the vid, but i'll call powroll asap and double check anyways so i don't get sued trying to do you guys a favor. I will update with any news. Is dvd alright for everybody? i don't wanna play this tape too mutch so the simpler it is for me to do multiple copys the better. I'll price burners this weekend. but my wallet is gonna hate me, the cheapest i found is around $250, but that requires playing the vid once for every copy. So one with a internal harddrive is prob best. at around $500. I'll keep ya posted.

If you want I can do it and it will be with my PC so I'll only have to play it once. PM me if your interested in sending it over the lake to me in WI.

The music industry is losing money by people sharing files, powrell is not losing money if they don't make it anymore.

Does anyone else have any other 3 wheeler vids out there? I had one back in the late 80's but left it at a friends house and who knows what happened to it. I will trade even up for a copy of yours if ya do.
